The Weekly Dip 7/1/22
After a hard-working week, most of us are coming into a three-day weekend which is the perfect time to catch some sun rays, whether at the lake or the pool, it’s time for some relaxation. Make sure you have some of these releases we’re dropping today on our weekly dip close to you; I guarantee you’ll catch a vibe or two enjoying some of these tunes.
Wynne - Ex-Boyfriend (Video)
Wynne had been teasing that the video to her latest record, “Ex-Boyfriend,” would be dropping later this week with showing some behind the scene content. It showed Wynne dressed down in the bedroom with a male companion while she recites her sensual lyrics in different positions. It already had fans sweating in anticipation to see the full viewing that we knew once the video dropped yesterday afternoon, it would have plenty of eyes peeled to the vibrant looks & sound of the visual. Of course, everything the preview showed made its way out and then some. Wynne felt more comfortable in her space with this release which I’m sure made the experience fun for her to endure while translating the erotic & witty side of herself. It gave a wholesome reaction by making this latest drop one of the best we’ve seen from Wynne so far to enjoy outside of her raps which is always incredible to see an artist go out of her element. This video will do just fine until her next release is announced, which I’m sure won’t be too long from now.
Premo Rice feat Aye Jae - Money Dance (Video)
I had recently got introduced to Premo Rice by way of his 2021 album “The Rice Tape,” which was an immaculate work of art from beginning to end with Premo’s suave demeanor to speak on women, luxury & pimpin, all over his smooth bravado on top of crisp production. I continued to be on a warpath of getting to know more of his catalog, and luckily I came across a newly-released visual titled “Money Dance” featuring Aye Jae in the process. Just as expected, Premo is seen pouring out champagne like he just won a championship while he’s laced in expensive garments around a bevy of beautiful women in his surrounding. This viewing isn’t anything new to Premo Rice to live this great; he’s just expressing how impeccable his art is regarding the raps. Pressed with power & taste, Premo Rice is on a nonstop chase to continue being successful; we recommend hopping on the wave now to see it happen before your eyes.
Angel Cintron & xBValentine - Know My Name (Single)
Angel Cintron, xBValentine & producer 33BRI, recently teamed up to bring a beautiful ballad to life with their latest collaborative single titled “Know My Name.” I had the pleasure to preview the record for a few weeks now, and even seeing it surface online with people sharing their love for the single doesn’t change the angelic feeling I got from my initial playthrough; if anything, it evolved. The essence of the record is put to the test by 33BRI, who shows out right out the gate, and from there, Angel & xB flourished gracefully throughout the single. From passionate love cues to intense intimacy, both female artists expressed their genuine emotions in being part of a brief companionship with the effect of not knowing each other’s names. It’s a roll of the dice situation that seems scary at first, yet they're not strictly out nor in yet, just going with the motion. It’s a deep track wrapped around your heart and guaranteed to be played in constant rotation for your weekend.
Pat Junior feat Xavier Omär - You Were Never Broken (Video)
Continuing to bless us with visuals from his 2021 highly acclaimed album “Gold Fans On Sunday,” Pat Junior delivers the harmonious video treatment to his Xavier Omär featured single “You Were Never Broken.” It speaks deeply about people thinking of their worth when it comes to their body image or their ability to birth a seed into this world; Pat Junior goes to length to show you where real beauty in you lies; within yourself. It shares a sentiment that when you think no one cares, Pat Junior is lending an open arm for your need. I’m sure there’s support among the people in your circle. You may seem too scared to seek it but trust that people are going through the downs right now, attempting to find the ups to get them back exactly where they need to be. Xavier Omär sings valiantly in this single, and man, if it doesn’t take your breath away when falling in head first to the release, I don’t know what does.
Nezi Momodu - On Gawd (Single)
The last time we featured Nezi Momodu on the site was when we got introduced to her music through her Missy Elliot homage visual titled “N.E.Z.” Since then, we stayed pretty close to her new releases, which brings us to her latest record that I’ve seen doing its fair share of rounds on both Twitter & Instagram in the last few hours. It’s to her newest fan-favorite record titled “On Gawd,” which has this feverous chorus to go along with her hard-hitting raps that I can see myself & many others chanting inside & outside of the listening experience. She has a video to go along with the drop that has her posted around the beautiful parts of Dallas while she is seen with people around her dancing to the track that I’m sure will have its place on TikTok viral hits if it’s not already on there now. I’m excited to see how far the record goes, and I’m sure she will get the recognition she deserves in no time.
FMG Knotts - In My Bag Freestyle (Video)
Fresh off the release of his album, “The Fastest,” FMG Knotts delivered another visual treatment off the project, which happened to be another Big Tex Johnny-produced track titled “In My Bag Freestyle,” that’s seeing its fair share of views in the last few days. Bust out the SLAB like GTA, Knotts is on a paper trail to chase the bag, and he’s currently in the lead. It’s no surprise that he’s a menace when it comes to lyricism and when making his name known among the city streets, he’s applying pressure wherever he roams. Poster in the office of Mazi’s World, Knotts is sitting back devising his plan while speaking to Mazi on his most recent successes. It’s best to try & catch up when you can but know FMG Knotts is miles ahead of the competition, and nothing is slowing him down until he’s passed the finish line. Even then, you still won’t be able to get near him; the gas in his tank doesn’t empty; he’s going as far as the road goes breaking every limit in sight.
Mateo Sun - Mosh Freestyle (Single)
Earlier in the week, Mateo Sun dropped a preview of a record on his IG & he titled it “Mosh Freestyle. The track sounded like pure heat right off the back, and many wonder when we would be getting the entire joint. He didn’t make any further announcement if the record was coming soon, but we knew better, so we waited patiently till the end of the week, which, lord and behold, the track dropped on all DSPs. The record is your typical start-up for Mateo Sun; he charges up like a sayian with the production pedaling him in before he lets off like a rocket. His signature vocal presence can be heard going in and out of the track while he keeps it calm when needed before peeling off again. It’s another surprise release from Mateo that I think will get followed by a visual for the track or something involving a project. Let’s see what the future has in store for Mateo Sun as we head into the year's third quarter.
Curly Sue - Domain Expansion (Single)
While promoting the upcoming Welcome To Texas tour with Texas Boyz, Monk Vision Entertainment & Vil courtesy of Rough Start Management, we got followed by Houston artist Curly Sue, who’s collaborated with both Vil & MVE before, so I’m sure he’ll be seeing some stage time out on tour. We were unfamiliar with his music but saw that he had just dropped a single earlier in the month titled “Domain Expansion,” which would allow us to be introduced to his sound. Right off the back, the production drew me in once the Curly-headed bandit started spewing his venomous sting on wax; it was sold to us that his underground ambiance was one of the most sinister we’ve come across in recent times. Strong vocal presence with some of the most menacing lines across its minute-and-a-half runtime made us instant fans of his art, and we could be seeing more of his work hitting the site in the near future.
