Joy Postell - Sweetest Thing (Video)
I’ve been a fan for awhile of Joy Postell ever since I came across her EP “The Magician,” where her alluring vocals and exquisite presence to the release made it an instant highlight for me to be in a trance with her music. During that time, I took a break from writing but always said I would return to her music once I was prepared since I was sure it would get my attention again and have the writing come freely. My moment arrived at the top of the week when I saw her latest release, “Sweetest Thing,” released during the weekend; that left me in awe; she took one of her fan-favorites releases and gave it an incredible performance. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and it is perfect to get her talent introduced on the site in perfect harmony.
Love isn’t always what it seems; Joy mentions she hopes it finds you unexpectedly in savored taste. She continues to detail that trust for her is precious and doesn’t want to make similar mistakes she’s produced before; don’t let it be the reason you don’t give her a chance now. Just know that once she has it, then you’re all hers. She attempts to go down past relationships with this love interest but would rather not hear about them and instead hope to be their future interest. The ballad is built with intimacy and passion, she longs for your love and wants you to know it. It's an emotional series of past and love that formed in this harmonious world believed to be her new awakening. Love is not searched but found when the moment is right, so don’t go looking for it; enjoy what the feeling is now and have it come to you. Joy does a beautiful job of painting this vivid tale in the single, and then seeing it come to life in the visual treatment compliments her art and shows just how creative her music can be. You’re already seeing it before the video is out, and having the pieces fall in place when witnessing the viewing is the epitome of greatness. The video showcases a remarkable look in the beauty that is Joy Postelle; in the night skies or when it’s clear, she shines brighter with just her presence alone, and then when she serenades you with her voice, it almost feels like a dream. There’s a lot to open up with in this record, and everything about it is a high bought to enjoy over and over again.
I adore Joy Postelle, and I am excited to see what 2024 has in store for us. Her music needs to be recognized more; her talent goes beyond the scale of ordinary, and I hope the masses have it happen more in the year. If you’re not familiar with Joy, then right now is the perfect time to start. Check out her latest release here and continue running up those views.
