Liveola & Nawf West Ryda - Live From The Nawfwest (EP)

Marbach veteran Liveola linked up with his protege Nawf West Ryda in a collaboration tape titled “Live From The Nawfwest,” where both artists go back to back like Robinson & Duncan in the finals and showcase that the future of Goodfella Music is in good hands with music like this being produced out. It’s great to start the new year with new music from Liveola and Nawfest as well since I’m sure they plan to move accordingly and vital for 2024, and this would be the best way to display that upcoming workload.

It is the perfect title for the beginning of the project as both Live & Ryda get to showcasing why the first track is called “The Livest Intro.” No warning necessary; both get to cooking expeditiously in the cut with Live executing punchlines hitter harder than Tyson in the 80s & Ryda block bleeding on the anchor of the record, setting the tone correctly on what we can expect from the duo moving forward in the project. “Threat” almost sounds like the passing of the torch, remembering those 3rd degree days with the production being stunning with a sample. Live gets to beating down the block with his lyrical aggression, adding the back-to-back verses that got them sliding on the candy paint to a hit and Ryda again highlighting that he’s going round for round with Live, not tapping out but also holding dine his own. The trunk-rattling record featuring AreeVee titled “Truck Still Waving” got the bass booming right out the gate, Liveola crumbling the concrete under him with the weight of his flow, and Ryda swanging in the lane thumping down the city streets with AreeVee finishing up what remains left, leaving destruction and everything wrecked wherever they go. The EP has moments putting the spotlight on both artists and then individually; it gives you an excellent look into their range to see them each take the lead but then form together like Ultron with a powerhouse level of raps.

I'm sure the duo has some visuals in the works from the project and a lot more music in store to follow. It’s about to be Goodfellas Record season soon. Be on the lookout for more announcements, and make sure you are playing this tape in heavy rotation at ignorant levels.
