Derdy & Seaux - Seaux Derdy (Album)

Coming in at the last moments of 2023, Derdy linked with his partner in crime, Seaux De Argent, on their collaborated project titled “Seaux Derdy,” which is sizing up to be a hidden gem in the city due to its monstrous pull of flourish production and prestigious raps put on by these two lyricist. It shows up and shows off throughout the 10-track project, dominating the field of rap to see this album become a stomping ground for the new year.

The album begins with the energetic-induced intro titled “Shit Yeah,” where Derdy is pouring up a deuce in the big red with explaining the situation to his paper chase, the moves he’s got to make & the description to the women he’s hoping to be laid up by the end of the day. While the chorus is loud with vigor, the production is still laid back, with both rappers applying pressure in a nonchalant manner, going over the pimpin themes of their lifestyles fitting for their respective roles. The album is full of rap therapy mixed with abrasive wordplay that showcases their artistic skills and manners regarding their daily regimens and thinking. On a higher power with conscious beliefs seeping through the words, they speak in realness and clarity that most rappers try but fail in the attempt. They do it with ease, showing the genuine in their respective pens. Records like “The Hype” & “Stand On It” indicate their inspirations and go beyond the grain to show much versatility in their reigns; it’s not something they're duplicating but creating in their own space, which makes them unique in their own style. You know you can’t leave the crib unless you check for your “Phone Wallet Key.” Both rappers play along while confirming the cardinal rule when exacting their daily tasks for the day ahead: whether it be rolling up, stacking cash, or suave speaking with the ladies, they get into their bag of raps and unleash a seismic wave onto the fly production. The project ends off with the outro” If I Fall,” which continues to grow their name into something spectacular; while the record keeps it a buck with who they truly are, they get personal on the sacrifices they make and are willing to take to get this shit jumping for them. They have seen a lot of wins and witnessed a lot of losses, but still, they proceed to continue their story to have a good ending to it all. The emotions flood through similarly on their single “Find A Way,” but I think here they vent on the fact that sometimes doubt comes in and out of their minds just like everybody else, but they are not afraid to stand up to it and dedicate the hard work they put in not to have it end now. The project's conclusion gives you much more confidence that Derdy & Seaux have something going for them, and they are not letting it go so easily. Instead, they double down on it and see the results increase.

Following the project’s release, Derdy has mentioned that he will be performing at The Hotbox 3 on January 26th, and I’m sure he might have Seaux alongside him to see some of these tracks performed live. I recommend getting you a ticket to witness that performance and stay updated with all upcoming news from Derdy & Seaux through their social media. We also highly recommend if you haven’t got your ears glued to this album yet, then you do so ASAP.
