LaRon Bryson - Runnin’ (Single)

During Friday, I couldn’t get away from LaRon Bryson’s latest release titled “Runnin’,” not that we were trying to, but it was evident from our Instagram feed that we were missing out on something special. Literally everyone we know had the visual of the record shared on their story, so it felt a bit unusual that we were outside the loop on the San Antonio lyricist; so we got to noticing immediately, and the outcome is that he now has my full attention with much more anticipation in store to see what more he has to offer.

Production builds all the way up to LaRon, obliterating with wordplays and metaphors right out the gate; his pen is as sinister as the lines ushering out in his flow. Thinking of the cash got him runnin' & runnin' thinking of stacking it to the ceiling, finger flipping through the gwala, day & night in the studio on his Cudi shit got him thinking of the future on the day that cemented his status as a legend in the city. He wants to cross boundaries inhabited before by anyone in the city. LaRon isn’t your typical type of artist just rapping, he has substance behind his words, and his raps are prominent with so much swagger behind them. Raising awareness on the difference between clout and fans, he remembers the day from having minimal attendees in the crowd to having more now hearing his message, his back pressing the wall, not understanding entirely if these sacrifices matter. Still, he goes back to the stu at the end of that, cooking up something with his bros while the money is coming & going, daydreaming of the day when the cash comes pilling up, fitting his goal to reach fruition. The visual for the record, directed by Neezy & Valmir, has LaRon roaming throughout the city in the back seat of a jeep, mimicking the Joker’s emote in the squad car from the Dark Knight to confirm his takeover of the town (coincidence?). The creativity of the video is phenomenal and again gives you more reasons to believe that LaRon’s vision is far superior to his peers. He links with an innovative team who go to great lengths to make sure his drops are different than the rest. LaRon Bryant isn’t someone who hopes for his time to come, but instead, someone who knows it will and works hard to get it. Shit is different when you do it that way; the wins are more significant, the losses hit harder, but the payoff is more remarkable. LaRon got here with his people who support his dream and want to see the rest of his story unfold before them; he’s destined for greatness and more which he won’t stop until he the top and continues to climb further to see how far his reach goes.

At the end of the visual, LaRon drops the announcement of an upcoming EP coming soon. If this record indicates what to expect, then it’s safe to say we got something spectacular coming our way in the near future. I’m sure this release will hold us over until more is revealed or quite possibly have the EP surface in a surprising fashion. Not quite sure about his level of detail when it comes to drops, but I’ll get to know it eventually; in the meantime, we highly recommend you check out both the single & visual here while continuing to share them on all social media avenues.
