COOKIE & Chuck Sutton - Cheery (Single)

It’s not often I wake up & start browsing through Twitter first thing in the morning, but that happened yesterday. I’m glad for it because if it wasn’t for that unusual occurrence, I don’t know if I would’ve been introduced to COOKIE & Chuck Sutton's latest release titled “Cheery.” The tweet shared a preview of the release’s visual & sound, where I was stuck on both the creative side of the viewing and the listening experience of the track, which had me darting to DSPs to hear the record in its entirety. After a few playthroughs of the track & a viewing of the video, I immediately knew I had to feature this on the site to get our viewership to notice the craze of the record that I’m convinced is one of the best things out right now.

First, I’m a sucker for a catchy chorus, and this year we haven’t had too many of them, so hearing this and already expressing my love for it to the point where my fiancée is already stressing on me to stop, I say we got a winner. COOKIE’s energy throughout this record is so vigorous, like she lights up the atmosphere when she gets to rapping over the salient production. Not needing no one else’s buzz, COOKIE is getting high on her own supply and addressing her boastfulness to be the life of the party where shit doesn’t start until she arrives. COOKIE is ruthless with lyrics; she’s blessed with the wordplay to knock down anybody that has a problem with her, get that shit handled quickly, or see her hands and the floor right after. COOKIE packs a lot of character in her artistry with a bit of zany to her visual self, but don’t let it fool you because you got a real prestigious emcee on your hands that is only just getting started. We also can’t forget the notable production from Chuck Sutton, whose work here is undoubtedly unique; where he fits the beat perfectly with COOKIE’a eccentric style, the best of both worlds come from this dynamic duo who delivered a sensational hit to the masses. The video is something else; never have I seen a collaboration work together in such a natural way and then transition throughout in a comical & highly incredible way. It forth-goes the way an artist is always on the clock; time is money because they need to make it to have their dream and how easy they can do it when they got something fly on her hand to get words over. I can go on about the many things this release has going for; I can easily see it catching on to viewers and listeners in no time, and I want to help start that wave here in Texas.

The more I find out about the record, the more it intrigues me; I saw Chuck Sutton mention that it was his first release after a year & half on hiatus, and you couldn’t even notice. I hope to see both him & COOKIE get the attention they deserve for the record; it definitely deserves all the eyes in music to witness the greatness they both delivered here. We highly recommend you check out the release here while sharing it on all social media platforms.
