A.J. Bray - Unique (Single)
It’s always a great day when we get a new drop from everyone’s favorite heartthrob in A.J. Bray. For his first drop of the new year, he jumps back into his “Love Abuse” bag to give us a ditsy little romantic number, strictly dedicated to the ballerina he’s been eyeing lately. What’s great about this number is that it actually feels like we’re witnessing the show she’s putting on with him. Bray is head over heels for this dancer the way he twists & turns his flow throughout it. It’s a bit toxic in terms of the subject matter but then again, maybe not. Fighting in a relationship doesn’t always have to be labeled toxic, it can actually be pretty healthy, so as long as the result at the end of it is making up or in their case, make up sex. It’s something about having a dominatrix screaming in his ear that just drives him crazy, crazy enough to put her in her place.
At this point, it the back & forth becomes a cyclical thing as he begins pining for her to take her feelings & whatever she might be going through, out on him. He has no issue being her punching bag cause he’ll fight back & beat the attitude right out of her & please don’t take that the wrong way, I’m obviously speaking in terms of lovemaking. Lord only knows how rough she can get, especially after a few drinks in her, she won’t be able to keep her hands off him & Bray is here for it. He’s never experienced a love like hers before, it’s almost an out of body experience for him, hence “Unique”. His wordplay is still top tier, “you say you got work, well I got a pole too” is basically a triple entendre, work as in, she has a job to go to so she can’t afford any playtime or work as in, work it out on that pole, as he probably has one in his home, specifically for her & possibly another for her to do her spin moves on.
If this is how Bray is coming into the new year then we’re in for another exciting year of releases from him & quite possibly, another installment to his “Love Abuse” series fore when he gets in his R&B or Dancehall bag, he leaves all the ladies swooning for his crooning. Very few artists have managed to stay THIS exciting with every drop but as I said before, whenever this man drops, it’s like the world stops.
