Bairi - 2 Hold U Over (EP)

Preparing to work on a full-length album, Bairi didn’t want to keep fans waiting in limbo for new music, so instead, she recently released a new EP titled “2 Hold U Over,” where the fitting title kept fans adoring new content from Bairi while also getting confirmation that more music is in the works. Five new records to keep us at bay, and you're probably wondering if that is enough to hold us over. The answer is yes, especially for these five tracks; I don’t know if they were initially intended for this EP, some were previously dropped singles & audios we’ve heard in the background of IG posts. Still, I can say together, they give us a look into the emotional journey Bairi has been through and what the road ahead entails for her in the next destination.

Now I knew we were in for a treat with the project, but my god, I didn’t think it would start like this; there’s so much soul and passion right out the gate; Bairi didn’t come to play at all with y’all so sit down and listen closely as her heart tells a story. Feeling a bit faded and x-rated has Bairi feeling like she’s doing “Way Too Much,” but again, when the vibes are correct, then there ain’t no telling what too much is. Simon says get used to this feeling, his company in presence, the comfort you have when he’s around & his hands all over her body. Bairi sings a sweet lullaby of guilty pleasures and sultry feelings throughout the record, and did we mention it’s over Justice League production? It’s a hit for those that enjoy the intimate ballad, and Bairi just cooked herself one of the best tracks to experience with a companion close by. I think in R&B, the type of records we often hear, especially from the female perspective, are about wanting more honesty & it’s not insane to see why anybody would wish for some truthfulness, especially if you feel a deep connection & you want to begin a stage of intimacy with them. If this is meant as a one-time fling, let her know; Bairi confesses this exact thing in her record, “Transparency,” where she’s feeling you already and is scared of getting closer since it’s unclear if you want this too. She’s been down this road before and would instead turn around if it’s leading in the same direction that’s almost too familiar. Be upfront, tell her where you think this goes next, and leave it on the line with her if you genuinely care for her; if not, enjoy the moment you had and kick rocks. Bairi unleashes a level of hurt in her tone, which you can take away that being in the positions is painful for her, and it’s the aftermath that fucks with her because she brings in thoughts like, is she any good? Who would want her? When it’s never the case. We, men, don’t tend to be truthful, especially on what we want; I’m on a working path myself with this; I can understand why Bairi’s words speak so much in volume in this record; it’s one of her more personal records to date. Bairi putting someone in their place was not on my list of things to expect from this EP, but where we are. Bairi has noticed some fraudulent things at play on “Spring Cleaning” with someone she once called a friend; she didn’t feel obliged to mention anything before. Still, it’s starting to get out of hand with the person growing ego over no reason, so let's stop that shit on its track before it goes overboard. Bairi address that she’s been healing on her own and knows her time of greatness is come especially with talent like hers and feels like she can now speak on the elephant in the room when it comes to this person’s trifling ways. I think one of the highlights of the track is how cool and calm she sounds hitting the nail on the head, Bairi dropping the world on your head in an utterly joyous manner is something I like to hear more but never be on the receiving end. Now if your already fans of Bairi, then you already know about the next single; if you're new to her music, then enjoy the incredible tale of the serpent-bearer mythology storyline and the wild cunning of Bairi’s vocals as it takes you through the cosmos. Who knew the shortest track would be the most reveling record, “Studio Thots” has more meaning in the title name; Bairi is sick of the men that approach her during recording time or land in her DMs to try and get some exposure for them. They are full of disrespect and the type of man to fumble on a bag before even getting it; these are the type that come around when she’s trying to relax, and while she can kick them to curb anytime, let the record play instead, so it’s used as warning to keep the corny shit away from her. Bairi has given us a lot to dissect in these tracks, it’s already become my favorite piece of music so far in the year, I truly enjoy to bask in her emotions that her voice creates, while we wish to have such a inspiring talent to confesses our feeling thoughts and vent it out, Bairi does it with flourish ability that it comes easy for us to listen but hard for her bare. I’m grateful to have received this from her, and I’m sure many other fans of hers can feel the same sentiment.

Not sure if any of these tracks are indications of what we can expect to hear from her upcoming album, but I can guarantee however the outcome goes, it won’t disappoint. All cheers to Bairi for her continued success and hope to see her name become more brighter in the near future. We highly recommend to check out the EP here while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
