MASN feat. Toshiyo Ghoul - Butterflies (Single)
As if we weren’t still gushing over the predecessor to this single, MASN comes through with Toshiyo Ghoul to make our hearts flutter like the “Butterflies” our crushes leave doing the same inside our stomachs. It’s really been beautiful seeing MASN blossom out of his cocoon, improving with every record he’s released so far. Definitely an artist you should be paying attention to, as I feel musically he’s headed into some exciting territories, as exemplified with these latest 2 singles of his. With this record, he’s offering her a safe space to open herself up & feel comfortable enough to let her guard down & let him in. He’s not applying the pressure on her, just assuring her that he’s different from all the other men she’s had to deal with in her past. It’s a bit juvenile in is earnestness, kinda like that fuzzy feeling you get inside when your crush acknowledges your existence but the emotion & honesty he’s conveying to her from the get go is so emotionally mature.
MASN knows how to craft a hit record though & whenever he taps a feature for a record, he not only brings out the best in them but they wind up complimenting each other extremely well. Toshiyo Ghoul’s presence on this record really makes the song that much more massive. The juxtaposition between these two vocalists make them a heavenly made match. Toshiyo is just playing with his vocal range on this appearance, carrying on with the theme of the record, still crushing over his high school sweetheart if you will, even now as they’ve grown much older together, not the same people they were back then but hopefully mature enough to find themselves on the same page in the relationship fore I don’t believe either of them wish for it to fall apart. All he’s asking for is a little bit of time to show her the sacrifices he’s willing to make in order for the two of them to survive.
Out of the healthy amount of beautifully versatile music, mostly concerning love, which I appreciate, being a heartthrob & all, “Butterflies” may just be his biggest song yet! It’s an irresistibly infectious little ditty that’ll surely get those emotions surging out of you, thus professing your unwavering love for that certain special someone in your life.
