Kash'd Out - Whiskey and Weed (EP)

We the party people night & day! Living crazy is the only way! That’s what you should take away upon getting some of that “Whiskey and Weed” in you, courtesy of the good brothers of Kash’d Out. Who doesn’t love these Reggae vibes, mixed with a hint of Ska? Think bands like Sublime with Rome, whom these guys are a bit reminiscent of for me. The only thing that could make this record even better is if they got Fela Kuti on the remix! Picture it’s Friday, you just got paid & you know you’re about to blow your whole check partying until we’re back to Monday cause that’s usually when you have to go back to that wretched day job. We just partying our pain away after all. We all deal with the real so it’s nice to live in a fantasy a bit. Those kinda nights you wish would never end & usually don’t end til the following morning. It’s an irresistibly wavy record that’ll leave the listener feeling real floaty, almost as if you were already crossfaded.

This single also comes with an extra groove with the Pepper assisted “Dirty Mind”. All we want is sex, drugs & Rock N Roll am I right!? She may be a good girl during the day but the freaks do come out at night. There’s some real funny lines in this record that make it all the more earnest. Like when he mentions going down on this girl but she stops him in his track to tell to pray before he eats like what?!! That’s hilarious. This record here is another smash from this band, so infectiously catchy, from the silly yet clever lyricism to the rhythmic grooves, it’ll have you wanting to take your significant other to a trip to Florida & make love in the sand. We all think a bit dirty but to find someone who’s even dirtier than you? All you can do is surrender & tell the Lord above, thank you!

We’re not sure what’s next for Jackson Hauserman, Greg Shields & Josh Saldate but they’ll be surfing the waves these records are making for a good while. Whatever else they got in store for us is surely to have you coasting, maybe even more so than these two beachy anthems!
