Swanny Ivy - Sleeping W/ Strangers (Single)
Last week, Swanny Ivy released his first single of 2023 titled “Sleeping W/ Strangers,” where he previewed the release with a visualizer directed by DavieeDavee that he once again finds him confessing more of his emotions in a melodic experience. Booted up with plans to know more about the stranger in his vicinity, he wants to know your inner thought before entering in the same intimate manner. Love or lust, once he’s off the vices, he can longer tell the difference; the only thing that matters is your story; tell him by your words or tell him by your action. By the end of it, he wants to know more about you than anyone else, it’s an intense philosophy, but I don’t expect anything less from him.
Swanny used to care for the cheap thrills, but now he no longer does; he makes the gentlemen's approach of getting to know you before tiptoeing into your temple. He used to be devoted to cheap pills, but he’s done so much damage that it doesn’t feel the same. Swanny continues his somber path from his previous project, “Endorphin,” by finding a new fixture to calm his spirits & find his peace. The infectious chorus of the record shows his fear of sleeping with a stranger for multiple days; he could be allowing anyone in, someone to drain him, someone to hurt him, or worse, someone to ignite back his older self. Swanny doesn’t creep around in the shadow of the record; instead, he holds the light to the person across for him as if he’s interrogating them. Again, he’s fallen asleep with someone that he doesn’t properly know, which is why if time is meant to be with them, whether for one night or consecutive days, he wants to know their inner & outer thoughts to see if he’s dealing with someone special or someone to bring back his demons. I love records like this from Swanny, he doesn’t hold back a punch of intensity, and sometimes my thought process might be a little wild when writing it and thinking it, but that’s usually what his ballad will do.
No announcement yet on where this will end up; I’m thinking it could be on his upcoming project, where we’ve seen him on his Instagram story working & recording towards perfecting.
