Aliza1k - Tha Truth (Album)

Last time we heard from Aliza musically was 2021’s “Self Made”. Since then, she found herself experiencing a cavalcade of success but with that success comes a whole lot of turmoil, that of which she expresses on this album’s intro. With “444”, we hear a side of her I can’t really say we’ve heard before. We’re used to her being the one just ripping through beats & she still does here obviously but it’s a lot more reflective & introspective than we’re used to. She addresses everything she felt she needed to on this number, from fairweather friends to her fear of disappointing her mother, to her making a name for herself in this game without having to comply by the bullshit standards people set, especially when it comes to the women in this industry. There’s no doubt that she has that sex appeal but she never felt the need to get naked to let that be known, she let her natural beauty & more importantly, her skills as a lyricist kick those doors open for her. Even when she touches on trying to balance her love life with her career, she still holds herself accountable for the role she might’ve played in the dissolution of that relationship. It’s the most mature we’ve heard Aliza to date. As the title of the record assured us, there’s about to be nothing but real spill on these records.

Aliza ain’t biting her tongue for nobody, not even family. She’s witnessing firsthand the division her fame & success is causing between her & her loved ones & you can hear that hurt in her voice, despite how she’s asserting herself on this saucy record. Goes to show that, even though she out here living her best life, in the back of her mind, she’s dealing with some real shit & will be damned if she allows anyone else to add onto that. She’s done with all the people pleasing cause the second she says “no” to these people, it’s like her yes’s never even happened. They start claiming that she switched up but she’s here to take control of the narrative. Even her ear for production has improved, adding all the more brashness to her flow & sound. She’s only ever kept it “Tru” & as long as she knows that in her heart, she can sleep comfortably at night. “Anotha 1” is more of that classic Aliza sound, swagged out beats with her swinging with even more gusto lyrically while on “Respect”, she not only demands we give her hers but if not, she has no problem taking it herself by force.

Even though she’s been out here politicking, straight dominating the game, it’s like people pretend they don’t see her coming & if that’s the case, she has no problem being that silent assassin on “P”, sniping every target with the utmost precision on this calmly daunting cut. She’s here to state one thing & one thing only, you only “FWM” or you don’t, pick your side wisely but don’t say you weren’t warned before you started making your bold “Claim” about her.
