Majur Deveaux - IFU (Single)

Hailing straight out of Freeport Bahamas, songstress Majur Deveaux has returned to hold herself accountable for her shaky love life on “IFU”. She begins with asking why this person would make these attempts at having a deeper connection with her only to pull themselves away once they started to get a little too close. Are they scared of commitment of what is it? She can’t seem to wrap her head around it. They are more than aware that what they showed her was what she’s needed all along & now they got her playing their cat & mouse games. She wants to know why this person wants to get to know her more intimately. Are things not going well with you & your girl? At some point she comes to the realization that she’s just the side piece, admitting that she definitely fucked up messing with someone who was already taken.

Lucky for her, she can simply blame it on the alcohol. Without it, she’s not one who’s so willing to let their guard down & open up to another soul, possibly due to it being thrown back into her face in the past. She wasn’t in her right state of mind downing that Henny, now she’s in love & can’t seem to find a way out of it. Why do we always want what we can’t have? I guess we can just chock it up to human nature. When you’re so deeply in love with someone, attached or simply infatuated, it can get blurry when trying to see the signs, no matter how clear as day they may be, we tend to only notice them after the fact, it’s just how it goes. Now she’s left to tend to her burns for letting her desires brought upon by her lust demons cloud her judgement.

I’m sure we can all take a note from Majur here & be very careful about who we choose to give ourselves to. We could be playing with fire for all we know. All of us can relate to fucking up when it comes to our love lives, not all of us can get it right all the time, we’re only working with what we knew, what we know at the time, it’s all a learning experience. We are however, excited for more vulnerable numbers as such from Majur to come throughout the year, possibly a debut EP or album! Shoutout That Girl Niza for the artwork on this one!
