Dende - Before We Crash (EP)
Our mamas warned us against the kind of girls Dende is lustfully dreaming over, simping over as well. You ever been on call for that one you deemed “the one”, no matter if she reaches out at an inconvenient time? Dende is certain his fantasy girl will soon become a part of his reality as he allows his love to unfold for the centerpiece of his dreams. “Sensually”, the synergy here is nothing short of an out of body experience. That’s if she’s willing to give this love a chance, which I don’t see why not. He’s such a gentlemen that he’s offering her “Flowers”, even volunteering to water them, to tend to her garden fore in his eyes, she’s blossoming like the bouquet. If only she could understand that the love she’s been long searching for, yearning for, is right in front of her eyes, rather than the clubs she frequents. Those men don’t have an ounce of romanticism within them. Although his profession has damn near everything to do with his words, unlike most, theirs always actions to go along with his lyrics he croons. How could she not swoon for a man of his word?
Before they crash though & collide into their love, or out of it in this case, why not take a cruise down to “Georgia” to meet up with his good friend Deanté Hitchcock? He recalls a past love, all the time & money, as well as emotion invested in her. He can’t seem to shake these now distant memories. I’m sure he had his reasons for leaving but now he seems to be questioning his decisions, maybe ever regretting them considering the bottles he’s now downing trying to numb that pain. We’ve all been there, I’m sure. The phone works both ways though cause if she really wanted to see him, she’d reach through or simply just slide, being that she knows where he’s residing at the moment. She too is probably pretending like the split doesn’t phase her but a deep connection, which they clearly had, doesn’t just dissipate that easily. Deanté compliments this record so well with his smooth, playalistic performance here. She no doubt will be running back, begging for his friendship once more after this one, she’s already harmonizing in the background.
Still, he understands that again, they could never be so he continues his attempts at blocking out those feelings fore they ache too much. How about a “Round Trip To Atlanta” to get lost in the wide array of pole dancers? What’s not to love about them? Especially cause for most, it’s just a side gig to help them reach even bigger aspirations. Not only that but the positive reinforcement to him throwing his money at her, the potential sex they could be having & though it may be exciting for the time being, none of it is what he’s really looking for. Once the facade is lifted, he’s still stuck with himself, without love. Her job after all is to do whatever she may need to do to squeeze a little more out of him & unfortunately, he just might continue to give into that temptation. He & Erykah Officer then link to put each other under arrest of one another’s passion with “Please U”. It’s a beautiful ode to wanting to please your partner, something a lot of couples don’t really know how to actualize cause they may be a little too shy & standoffish to have these conversations with their partner. And for the most part, a lot of men are just trying to get themselves off, which doesn’t take much. He’s much more “Better Than Him”, than these guys who refuse to be attentive to your needs, no matter how much you make your dissatisfaction clear to them. All he’s asking for is a chance to prove himself to you but please, offer it before he crashes out of this game of love.
