Tay Money - Girls Gone Duh (Album)

After starting with her 2018 EP “DUH,” then having us experience “Hurricane Tay” back in 2019, which got us “Blockedt” in 2020. We had singles galore take over 2021, with now in 2022, we get to sit back & enjoy “Girls Gone Duh” for Tay Money’s latest project, and one that defines her 5-year progression. She’d been “Bussin” with “Trapper’s Delight” until “Bussin 2.0” featuring Saweetie came along. From there, she’s twerked her “Left Cheek, Right Cheek” on stage throughout the globe, becoming a nationwide success, and was on the verge of going double platinum when the world understood “The Assignment.” It’s been all the way up for Tay Money, who held down Texas off the strengths of hard work for a demi-decade. She’s been kicking that southern twang & signature Dallas-esque vibe while looking glamorous in the process; ain’t nobody shines brighter than Tay Money. This latest album will show that her glow will remain lit for five more years.

Throughout the months, we got familiar with her singles “Self Made,” “Hello,” “The Assignment,” & “Asthma Pump” by way of the jollification sounds of the records, including the visuals that accompanied the releases. Because of that, Tay Money decided to start the album with a brand new release titled “BBB,” which followed with a visual on her release date that built more of a celebratory victory for her drop. She introduces new joints like “Expensive,” “Go Awf,” & the lil.eaarl + Huncho Da Rockstar-featured track “Middle Fingers,” which came stunting on the scene when they come through on the speakers that will surely create an eruption of ass-shaking we can expect to see at her performance especially while she’s out on tour. Tay Money devises a worthy set of tracks on this album that will surely make her stage presence light up with festive feelings when you're in attendance, and when you are not in it, then you're twerking up the function or party you’re at, feeling the vibes completed by Tay. I do need to bring up her outro record, “God’s Fav,” which is a much different record from her previous tracks on the album and even some of her older content. It is a more personable track from Tay that speaks on the highlights of her life while still adding in that touch of Tay that we enjoy where she still flexes on the opposition who attempt to impose her shine, but it’s too bright to block. She speaks about the highs and lows in her life while remembering those who downplay her success but are now her biggest fans. It’s a deep track and one that I’m surprised to hear from Tay, but as I mentioned, it’s more in-depth about her well-being before and after the success, so instead of getting Tay Money, we may be hearing from Taylor Noelle Watson instead. Tay Money progresses forward in this album; she still rocks out with her signature nature to be empowered, and it becomes more infused with her accomplishments that show up here in this album.

If you’ve seen one second of her Instagram, you know her life is full of friends, family, fans, and complete blessings. We wish her team and herself success and nothing less. Seeing Tay Money from the start of her career to her most recent win, we know much more is in store. Still, while we wait for the next release, which I hope is a visual to “Go Awf,” we wish her safe travels on her way back to Texas to finish off her tour, then heading up to Canada for Rolling Loud in September. Get tickets for her remaining shows below while checking out the album and then sharing it on all social media avenues.
