Bamsworth Belli - Hi Im Bamsworth 2 (Album)
After dealing with personal matters that kept him away from the spotlight for a brief period, Bamsworth Belli makes his triumphant return to music with a follow-up to his 2017 project, “Hi Im Bamsworth” by giving us the long-awaited “Hi Im Bamsworth 2” to endure his reappearance in an album that graciously rolls out the red carpet and welcomes him back in a supportive & high praised manner. Linking back with artists and creatives like Worldwide, McKenzie, FMG Knotts & more during his time working on this album, you can expect to hear a series of growth, familiar sounds, and of course the hunger that we’ve come to expect out of Bamsworth since day one with more days ahead of him to conquer.
He begins with the intro titled “Bams Breakdown, which delivers a view into the mind of Bamsworth to show how complex his thought process becomes. He channels this laid-back groove while explaining the things he hasn’t been able to obtain in life yet, like certain luxury items and a bad chick on all fours. Not being able to speak to god lately, Bams is too busy cooking up and creating music while certain vices cloud his aura, still not accepting defeat from those attempting to block his shine. In sporadic fashion, the beat changes up, with Bam’s vocal becoming more menacing. Instead of his nonchalant demeanor, he’s now speaking about more violent aggression with turning the world upside in chaos. Now with the intro drawing you in immediately from the jump, it wouldn’t be enough to warn you into the next single titled “Drive Me Crazy,” which is one of the most personable and powerful records I’ve heard from Bams and one I’m extremely excited to share my thoughts on. Many fans had asked for an explanation for Bam’s absence, and they got their reason. In the record, Bam spills his soul on feeling like the world was out to get him; back and forth with tragedy will make some of the strongest soldiers fall to their knees, and while Bam felt the world was crashing down on him more; he felt defeated in the process, yet he knew he had gone this far to ever think about backpedaling. Seeing that he achieved making it to 24, he realizes the Lord gots a different path for him, and there no reason to slow down in it. I be lying if I didn’t say I shed some tears on this record a few times; it’s raw and passionate to hear Bam in this record, and the production played a vital part in making sure his heart was shown in the track. The remaining tracks have a message behind them with his growth showing in them; it’s not as emotional as “Drive Me Crazy,” yet it showcases his top-tier status to remain one of the most efficient emcees in the city. “A.D.I.D.A.S.,” “Hella Blunts,” & “Floorboards” feel like they were inspired by Schoolboy Q’s “Oxymoron” album, which is only fitting since I felt the way about the 2017 release. Instead, here though, Bam constructs his own unique wit that exhibits more of his storytelling essence to be violent in nature which comes different than the first project. I was surprised to see “Outlaw” on the album since it was always a go-to record from Bam & seeing the past hit make its way out introduces new fans to his existing craft. I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t mention the infectious record “Ass & Titties” since the chorus is one of the catchiest drops on the album and the most fun to sing along with while the production follows behind it. Blast from the past on the outro “Young In Amerikkka,” where Bamsworth & Hoodlum linked up together to speak on the harsh existence of being a minority in America while surviving through greed and plunder of the rich. It securely finishes the album to be one of the hardest releases not just in the year so far but in recent times. Bamsworth Belli delivered this project when people have asked to hear real rap like this again, and Bamsworth just satisfied the listeners with 10-tracks that will begin to create the narrative of what else is in store for the future.
The rollout for the project was incredible; where he had a listening party that, unfortunately, I could not attend, but I heard phenomenal things from those who were present. He also had merch being pushed out & an interview conducted by Mazi’s World, and the hype to see one of the videos released. I would love to see “Outlow” completed and maybe “Supadupa” as well; I think it’s one of the most underrated tracks on the album, and seeing more people gravitate to it in a visual format would be amazing. We want to show our appreciation to Bam for conducting a spectacular release and hope to see more success for him to continue onward in his journey.
