TB Robby - 1000 (Video)

I really gotta pay closer attention to TB Robby, apparently I’ve been missing out on a whole lot besides “1000”, so forgive me for falling off but we back on with these latest visuals of his. It’s about time we stop & acknowledge just how skilled an MC this brother is. Everything I’ve had the privilege of hearing from him has been nothing short of elite. His pen game is as dangerous as it gets though it all seems like a cake walk for him. LUCAS comes through with the subtly knocking production, the perfect bed for Robby to talk his shit over & mollywhop you over the head with a verse that contains no filler, reminding you that it’s solely about the skill. 

I just really love how he’s been bringing back one verse records, no hook or nothing, just focus on this skill. He doesn’t rely on being super duper lyrical miracle criminal, but rather his authenticity as he’s concise in the message he’s conveying. It’s just nothing for him to carry himself as elegantly as he does. He’s simply speaking to you with these verses, calling out those who feel like they have to fake the funk in order to garner some attention but that could never be him. He actually was, at the very least around a lot of the stuff rappers claim they actually lived through & did but he knows better than anybody that that, is strictly cap & not one he’d ever be caught wearing either. 

All he asks is that, if you’re gonna be around someone like him, it’s mandatory that you keep it a thousand with him but we all know that people can barely keep it a hundred with people but that’s fine cause he would never associate with lesser thans anyway. There’s so many one liners in his performance here that may sound simplistic to the average ear but are nonetheless absolutely brilliant & got a writer like myself shaking in his boots, I mean, “foot on the gas, I can’t give them a break (brake)”, I mean c’mon, most rappers couldn’t even come up with easy lines like that & deliver it as eloquently as he has. Already, I’m excited for what he may be dropping next week if he’s still dropping music weekly, I really shouldn’t have fallen off but we back to keeping up with this brother, he’s too elite to ignore!
