You know when an artist declares a record as their favorite they’ve ever created that you can wholeheartedly trust that they aren’t just saying that for no reason. Watching Liiito’s growth over the years has been tremendous to say the least but ever since, even right before signing to the Davies Entertainment syndicate, he’s just been in a whole other stratosphere, both musically & in his personal life. Back in February of this year, the 15th to be exact, he & the love of his life, Shelby welcomed their baby girl Milani Ivy Madrid into this world. I wouldn’t know cause I haven’t gotten to this point but I hear having a child really just shifts your whole perspective on life. Now it’s no longer about you, it’s about doing what is necessary to ensure your child has the best life possible. Lucky for Milani, her daddy has one of the strongest work ethics of any man I’ve personally seen. Not only that, but he actually enjoys life, even more so now that she’s in it, integrally so.
From falling out of love with the music to now back deeply in a committed relationship with it, we’ve never heard him this passionate about his art before. Now don’t get it twisted, he’s always musically & lyrically been proficient but something about his output as of late is really showcasing his appreciation for not only the art form but life in general. The title to this record alone is brilliant, it’s all about family but to put that dot in between fam & ily to make it a compound word, even in his song titles, he can’t help but insert the wordplay. As I always say, it’s only up from here. Sure it may have been a tedious run to get to this juncture in his life & career but, as cliche as it is, hard work does eventually pay off & sometimes in ways you never really expected. Who would’ve thought this “Corrupted Youth” would’ve grown up to instill love & morals into his own child?
It’s “Bring Your Daughter To Work Day” over at the Davies compound & who knows, maybe Milani may lay down some vocals for one of her daddy’s projects before we know it! Is there really any love more purer than that of a child? Liiito is not falling by the wayside anytime soon so don’t assume that just cause he’s a parent now that he’s gonna be taking a break from music or even the biking, expect him to go ten times harder than he’s been going. I heard someone say a while back that most rappers fall off after they have a kid but I could never see that being the case for him. He’s an overcomer who continues to hop over all of life’s obstacles, not even the police lying on him can stop him from what he’s set out to accomplish in this life, for his family’s sake.
