Monk Vision Entertainment - Static (Album)
Monk Vision Entertainment had 2021 sewn up with singles, visuals, and tour performances that gave the prestigious collective enough attention that whatever they dropped onward would be scooped up immediately with all ears and eyes drawn on the release. It so happens that after entering 2022, we would start to see previews and teasers to what was looking to be a full-length project from the collective. In the middle of January, we started seeing cryptic messages about a release date for their upcoming album titled “Static.” Not long after, the cover art for the album would surface with more anticipation growing since it would be providing more tunes to enjoy from the collective while gathering new & existing fans of their eminent fanbase. At the top of the week, “Static” dropped with our timeline lighting up like the fourth of July, with listeners tuned in to the album and seeing a more versatile range from the collective that would continue to cement their elite status.
Tuning in to Triple Six Five FM, MVE starts the album with their intro “Burn,” which does an insane job of making it feel like you are listening to a radio show while enjoying the airwave conversation that sets ups the on-point description of the group, the fire starts igniting in the middle of the track with the collective going in on the record with such precision and wit. Never a dull moment when your dial into this station, and they're showing you firsthand how creative they plan to take this during your listening experience. Of course, they introduce “Bankroll” as their previously released track, and where it sits on the album is perfect for an existing fan of their music because from here, you know it’s only going up. This is exactly what happens; you get a whirlwind of hits such as the Vil-assisted record “Ready For War,” the lyrical onslaught of “Steeltoe Freestyle,” & the infectious groove of “Dust To Diamonds” all pressed nicely on the album. Other joints that we have to mention would be “Stomping!!!”, “Verde” & “I Feel Like God,” but then again, we really can say this whole album was incredible from start to finish. Not one moment did they let us breathe on the project unless you count the radio skits, but besides that, this was the pinnacle of audio dope. I could sense a level of intensity from the collective throughout the album, they know they're not too far from their goal in this music shit, and it shows they give their all in these records and pave the way for them to succeed. It’s a flawless victory on their end and one that is going to put them ahead of most throughout the year for sure.
I know leading up to the album, they were experimenting with these visual concepts that I hope may lead to some videos from the album. It may be something they're working on now, so stay tuned to see if any announcement will be made soon. In the meantime, be sure to run up the plays on this album and introduce someone new to MVE while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
