The Cool Kids - It’s Yours, Pt. 2 (Single)

Thursday night, The Cool Kids gifted us with another prominent single titled “It’s Yours, Pt. 2” off their upcoming highly anticipated album, “Before Shit Got Weird.” The first joint accompanied by Larry June was a bit laid back that made you want to cruise through your downtown area with the bass booming, while this latest track is a bit faster in pace and builds up the animation of the duo to give you a more chaotic-filled vibe that certainly feeds our thirst of wanting an avant-garde record from the illustrious duo. Produced by Chuck Inglish & Beat Butcha, who provide a lot of classic samples that clash well with their unique styles that are giving it a crisp sound for the final product to have Mikey & Chuck deliver a cascade of grandeur raps.

Pressed with a lot of grit & flair, Sir Michael Rocks start erupting with prestigious lines speaking about how he’s so far gone in the future flourishing while you're still flexing in the present. This flow is the type of witty wordplay I enjoyed from the duo and made me a fan of their art. The rhymes he’s expressing are insane in that it starts with this speedy tempo that drops in pace and then transitions joyously into the chorus. Chuck is up and begins with aggression right out the gate like a shark in the water hunting down his prey. His zealous ability is fierce and one that matches the caliber of the production that floats along well, anchoring the track but also showcasing the dynamic collaboration when these two hit different styles but mesh it in star-studded fashion. 

I’m excited about their upcoming project slated to drop on March 3rd since the singles have all been paramount; they even recently shared that Pac Div, Chance The Rapper, J.I.D, 6lack & more will be on it. I got into blogging because of artists like The Cool Kids and I now have the opportunity to write about them in my own outlet. The future is looking bright for Chuck & Mikey, and surely it will only get better once the album surfaces.
