SATARA - Appetite (Single)
Last I heard from SATARA, she delivered us the incredibly poignant “Don’t Die,” & on “Appetite,” the poignancy is still prevalent. The passion is fiery & the hunger is salacious; she’s like a goddess offering you a bite of the forbidden fruit & her lyricism on this record is on point. She needs someone to satiate the rumblings in her stomach, not someone to leave a bad taste in her mouth. I’m sure she’s had enough of that, she’s looking for someone more flavorful, someone who’s a bit of an acquired taste, kind of how she is due to her rarity, she’s a leader & needs someone who’s the same, that way both of them can be submissive whenever necessary.
Who doesn’t like the center of a honey bun? Do you understand how sweet those things are? My stomach is growling just thinking about it & I love how the music and her vocals build up then come back down. The sexual tension is more than felt on this record; they both can feel the connection on a much deeper level, spiritually & emotionally, especially physically. It’s like synergy, if you will. Could you imagine a meal by someone who’s actually passionate about you, someone who truly loves you? Many men expect women to behave like the stereotypical wife, but they don’t really act right enough for a woman to feel the need to reciprocate that energy back to their man so they can keep warming up them hot pockets.
I’m interested in seeing where SATARA goes from here; 3 singles deep so far & she’s absolutely crushing it. She is showcasing her versatility as an artist this early on can only result in even more of that same diversity musically on perhaps an EP or even a debut, which hopefully is well on its way. Until then, these singles will more than hold you over & quick question is that a pomegranate on the cover or an apple? Either way, this record is just naturally sweet, like the fruits of her labor & honestly, this record actually makes me want to eat something healthy for once; maybe SATARA has some more full-course meals to prepare for us soon!
