Redveil - Weight (Video)

Over the weekend, I was introduced to DMV artist Redveil by way of his performances during AG Club's "Fuck Your Expectation 2021" tour, with plenty of clips being uploaded on social media with a tremendous amount of support going for this 17-year old emcee. The track highlighted in the video was to his Gio-featured record "5500," which had me running to streaming services to peep the record which it happened to appear on his 2020 project "Niagara." The single was already a lively introduction to Redveil's sound but the rest of the project definitely satisfied your listening buds to a well-rounded album that you can enjoy in rotation on numerous occasions. It was unfortunate that we couldn't feature the album when it dropped. Still, I did notice track two off the album did get the visual treatment three months ago, which is a perfect introduction to have our followers raving for this rising artist.

The record titled "Weight" lays heavy on this harmonious sample that plugs in perfectly with Redveil's ability to unload the pressure of being a product of the streets and seeing some of the harsh tribulations he's had to go through. Pain and tears have been something he's shed for years in growing up that he no longer allow it affect him as much; he's not here for the BS, so don't bring it around him. Fuck 12 with two middle fingers in the air, all that shit-talking on the net for the people that support them but know they get the fade on-site in real life. He's admirable with a skill set of rhymes that evolve the more you walk into the record. He's about the money without the fame behind it; the checks mean more to him since it's a gateway out of a life where most end up in a body bag or behind a prison cell. I love the revered sense of style to his raps; he's feeling the weight on his shoulders that at any point, all this hard work can fail and can put him back into the place he doesn't want to be in life. Still, though, at this time, he's staring at a triumphant path where this music shit is rising for him.

I liked that a project in 2020 is still a highlight of his art, and people are now noticing him more on a broader scale. I've seen him appear on numerous blogs during my research with them mentioning him as the next prominent artist coming out, and we can definitely agree with that notion. We’ve even seen Tyler, The Creator post about his music as well. We hope to see more content from his surface and will make sure to keep him close on the radar moving forward. We hope this introduces more people to his content since it's deserving to be seen by the rest of the world by now.
