Isaiah Flowers - Send It To The Ground (Single)

Let me just take a second to express how much I appreciate records that give me nostalgic feelings while also maintaining their sense of modernity & Isaiah Flower’s latest single does just that. This release was my first impression of Isaiah & it was a blast of an introduction. It’s like this mid-2000’s funky little Pop jingle, something I’d probably hear in passing in one of those sweepstakes-like commercials & that is in no way meant to disrespect this smash hit single is. It’s an absolute floor stopper, so I highly recommend you bust out those skates & head to your local roller rink, I’ve never personally been, but if I ever do, Isaiah Flowers made me do it.

It’s safe to assume my guy has a potential album coming up in the near future judging from the cover art of this single, as well as its two predecessors, which those 2 are also really great records that each differ from one another, anybody who knows me knows that I’m big on versatility, it’s a sure-fire way to make me gravitate towards you as an artist instantly. On “Send It To The Ground,” it’s clear that he’s still pining over a past love, driving himself nearly insane, wondering if she may possibly be thinking of him still. The feelings he has are far too strong, so he’s confused about what he should do with him. Though he’s confident, she has a good place where he can send them.

Isaiah is definitely another promisingly fresh artist to hit my radar in recent memory; not too often can someone really captivate me with the music, but that’s only cause not everything that comes across my way is unique in terms of musicality. In other words, I’ve heard some perfect bops come my way, but none quite like this. It’s pretty much everything I love about a good pop song, plus the mid-2000’s FM radio feel; it’s definitely radio-worthy. I’m already personally anxious to hear what else he has to offer based on this single alone, which is an automatic add to my personal playlist. I already know he’s going to keep this same intoxicatingly infectious flavor moving forward with future releases; until then, I got some “living with his archive” to do!
