Sage Baker feat AJ Bray - Silver Heart (EP)

So not only did I literally just get put onto another great creative in Sage Baker, who handles everything about his music apparently, being that he's a producer & a songwriter. Now off the bat, it's evident that he's an artist worth paying attention to cause his melodically driven verse plus the infectious hook are so that. Still, we also get not one but two collabs with the incomparable A.J. Bray, who's still on his "Love Abuse" tip. It's fitting that he has his own R&B night coming up later on in the month, each of their "Silver Heart" isis now so lackluster due to the toxicity of the relationship.

He's falling for this girl even though he didn't mean initially, but now that he's in, he's in too deep & though he did have options at once. He's now stuck in it & Bray is asking her to be truthful with him & not play him by sleeping around with anybody but him. Maybe she's not as committed as he is, but he's asking her to realize her worth & understand that if she's down for the night, then he can show her her full potential. Hopefully, she sees that he lives up to his, but it's true what they say, these pretty girls are out here breaking hearts, that damn love abuse am I right?

On "Dulce," Sage really shines, the production is so soulful & those strings in the beginning really tug on the ones attached to your heart. His crooning is superb; they've both done their fair share of practice, so he wants to know if this is actually genuinely of what they're feeling & not just play-acting. Whatever it is, though, he's willing to endure it just for the sake of her being closer to him & the choice for him to have Bray add his little magic touch to it is beautiful. He just wants her to take him seriously cause there's sincerity in every word he utters to her. All in all, these are two excellent singles that I'm glad came my way & although I was mainly interested because Bray was attached to them, I left rather impressed by Sage Baker & he will definitely be an artist I keep in my eyesight moving forward, until then, I'll just enjoy these two excellent records & maybe even dive deeper into his archive, actually, it's no maybe, I am!
