Micky James - Shiver (Single)

First impressions, I love when records like this come my way & especially when I'm blown away by them. Micky James is clearly keeping the spirit of the eras before him alive, not only with his swagger but his overall style. That voice is so distinct & is really reminiscent of those iconic voices he's undoubtedly a product of; he has that crushing Classic Rock vibe going on, but the Contemporary Pop of it all is wrapped up so nicely with it. It's a beautiful fusion of genres & eras he's done here with "Shiver," an old soul in this modernist time, but I love that cause his flamboyance sets him apart from others.

He's probably trying to affiliate himself with someone who's emotionally unavailable. He says she feels lonely yet wants to be left alone. It's like, why you have to be so cold? You're making him shiver with your mixed emotions, make up your mind cause he can't make up his. He wants you, but she's playing too hard to get, she knows how to hit him below the belt & it's just so unnecessary; why do we have to sit outside in the snow when we can just cuddle up & keep each other warm for once in our lives. But even if she doesn't give in, he's going to keep thinking of her cause she's already secure a stay in his mind, but hopefully, he won't keep wrecking his mind over her, at least let him cover up if you're going to be this cold.

Micky is looking fly as ever in these visuals; he's an absolute rockstar, the glam is just so glitzy & this song just got me so ditsy. It's an absolute floor stopper & I love how the visuals just show how it's all in a day's work for him; he's on the train, headed to this birthday-themed performance, which I love as well cause it really emphasizes how flashy he is. He also has those pop star sensibilities about him; maybe it's just his knack for making catchy jingles, which I'm sure he has more of just dying to be listened to by me. He even takes some time to meditate out on that terrain before he gets to the show. Still, once she sees this performance, she just might warm up to him.
