Grip feat Wara - Gutter (Single)

When I saw Eminem repost the photo of him with Grip in the studio, I lost my shit cause we hardly see Em & know whenever that man comes out of his cave, it's for a good reason. This time, it was to announce his newest signee in Grip, who I had never heard of before this moment, but when Eminem gives you that stamp, you don't question it cause that man knows real lyrics. Grip is more than that though, just peep his entire archive prior to this single; so many gems & right out the gate, you'll understand why Em signed him to Shady Records. He's a Native from Atlanta; his music details the trials of life while also being very witty with his lyrics; the skill is automatically known.

On his debut single for the label, "Gutter," he enlists Wara for an insane track that shows you just how much of a problem is on that mic. The muffled effects on his vocals really force you to pay attention to what he's saying, he has all the wants of anybody in this game, but he's not about to sacrifice his skills or integrity to get any of it. The game has been a tricky one for him; it's hard to really fuck with anybody in the industry, a lot of fraudulent & fakes walking around. He wants to be respected by those who matter in this game rather than the lames who've appraised it. The music he's creating is too good to be mishandled by people who ain't even in tune like that, not to mention how insane his syllable scheme is when those lyrics hit.

Wara also does his thing on here, which I find awesome as well, being that Grip thought to himself to put on one of his homies as well on his first major-label single. That's huge of him to share that shine as well cause Wara has some heat you should definitely look into. However, it's refreshing to see Eminem still has his finger on the pulse & continues to give these incredible upcoming artists opportunities for them to run with. Grip has already been putting in work for a minute & isn't changing anything about what he's been doing just cause he's behind a major. Please don't be one of those Eminem stans who's only waiting for the Em feature; of course, we'll get it, but even if not, I don't care. I always want to hear Em just because I'm a fan & especially him rapping alongside a killer like GRIP, but I want to hear more of what GRIP has to bring to the label. I'm already in love with all this dude's music; it's that good, so please give him the love & attention he deserves!
