Alex Saintlouis - Hidden Gems (Album)

Alex SaintLouis has worked the last few months vigorously to supply a follow-up to his 2020 album, “90’s Baby”, that helped him build an audience to his content and established a growing fanbase for him. He needed to make sure that the next project would open more doors for listeners to get more introduction than before and be familiar with his hidden talents from within. He then laid the blueprint out on social media that his time writing & recording had been finished with, then announcing that his upcoming album would be titled “Hidden Gems” to showcase his inner velocity & have you surface his artistry on top of his work.

The project is hefty with 18-tracks which, to be quite honest, was a lot for me to take in at first, but there were no filler tracks on here. This amount was necessary to understand the mechanics of Saint’s working mind. The intro titled “The Come Up” starts with a conversation with his mother to where he’s speaking in her native tongue. Before you get to the rapping, he’s already put it out in existence that this is for more than music, this is a way of life for him, and he gots family relying on his efforts where he won’t let them down in. It makes the description perfect for when he starting rhyming since he spills the come-up narrative that he’s currently on to be put in a place where he can show off his accomplishments for those cheering in his section. Among the hardship behind the words, Saint is delivering venomous lines one after the other in the record, and it goes to show that a strong start will pay off with a big finish. After receiving such an incredible intro, he lets the vibes start playing out with the Ronnie Ray-assisted joint “Picture Me Rolling” that sounds like the top should be down while the wind blows. The indo is rolling while heading to a spot where there oceans and sand or a pool & some ladies to accompany you for the day. Excellent Summertime record to enjoy on days like today, and when you are living freely “On This Side” people want to know what you be doing. Saint is telling them he’s out here getting the “Blessings” he deserves; there no room for “Fake Love” on the journey he’s taking, which is why he “Can’t Trust Nobody.” “On The Road” once again with a catchy hook to go along with such a vibrant vibe you can’t ever feel stress when listening to this project; there’s just no way. From the zaza burning in the room due to the “Smoke Sometimes” to the passionate vocals spewing out on “Fire Fire Fire,” his delivery is versatile in so many sounds that he litter sky fits perfect on everything. Getting to the end, he’s powering up with 3x:m Soul on “Soul Power” that hits on many cylinders, preparing you for the outro record of the project. He understands his path still has some ways to go but knows he’s in the right direction; mile by mile he goes, and so far, he’s made it “Midway2Fame”. He knows there doubts out there from people of interest who want to see him down bad, but he doesn’t want to give them any satisfaction. His journey will be a triumphant one for him, and he knows by continuing onward, he will get there in no time.

What a delivery; Al SaintLouis closed out another chapter in his story to embark on the next one, and I can’t wait to see where it takes him next. Just know we’ll be there to see him go and return with more content like this in no time. Until then, we recommend you check out this album in its entirety here while sharing it around on all social media platforms.
