King Khali - Extension (Video)

It seems like just yesterday, Khali was pulling that ski mask over his face, channeling his inner goon that would make Plies proud & spitting nothing but gems in those freestyles. I guess one day, he thought to himself, why not make these freestyles not only actual songs but have some visuals to accompany them. It might one of the best things he’s ever done cause when you think about it, I’m not sure many are doing it like he is. A freestyle, produced initially, not over nobody else’s beat of a familiar or popular song with a quality visual to go along with it; it’s all just exercise for him.

Whenever Duvin laces Khali with these soul samples, I swear Khali shines, matching his introspective pen with pure bars for another phenomenal verse. The last track that had this feeling was “Riverdalien,” & this feels like a continuation of that. His flow is as conversational as it gets, but he still manages to muscle you around with the bars. He’s feeling blessed as ever, but as many blessings come his way, there’s an equal amount of destructive energy that comes along with that, but even though he keeps his guard up, it’s like it doesn’t even phase him so imagine if it did.

I’m not sure where this was shot at, but it is a beautiful view, making the record feel all the more personal, being that it’s just him, you hardly see other people around, he’s come a long way to get where he’s at now. Still, with lines like “a lot on my plate, so I double back like I need some more,” it lets us know that he’s never complacent no matter how far he gets in this game. He’s always going to strive for more. We also learn, as if you couldn’t tell by now, that it’s a lot deeper than the music if he can’t put his people on. He won’t feel so accomplished; when one wins, everybody has to win with him & that’s the mentality that’s made him the leader that he is & as far as I’m concerned. I’d say he’s prepping something significant; being that he’s going to continue rolling out these freestyles & we couldn’t be more grateful for the free game.
