Abstract Media - War (Single)

All is fair in love & "War" on Abstract Media's first release of 2021; it seems like no matter what, love is never enough. However, we find ourselves crawling back to meaningless relationships, sure he has things he needs to work on, but so does she. She can't bring herself to admitting it, not even to him really, mainly to herself; at times, it feels like he's the one putting forth all the effort to make things work. Still, her attitude is making him wanna split, hopefully amicably, but I doubt it.

Do you really love this person like you claim you do or are you just trying to fill some void within yourself? This is the question you need to be asking. How is this person really benefiting my life? All we ever do is argue, but he is trying, he's faithful & gives me the world, but I still can't seem to be fully satisfied & he seems about ready to give up. The second verse is implying that she ran off the reservation for promiscuous reasons & now the connection has shattered out the door, he goes, and she's just left there to ponder her actions.

Love is a complex concept, but it's essential to our lives & the way these two explain the emotional tolls it can bring down on a person is impeccable. I'm sure many of us have been in similar positions, but still, it's a war we're willing to take on. We'd rather that than be lonely, but then it also can wound up the other way around, as it clearly does in the 2nd verse. It's bittersweet, but I can only hope that what you take from this record & visual is to never give up on love; sometimes things don't work out & that's fine but never give up.
