Lexaay - Wild, But True (EP)
Lexaay is back with her debut EP “Wild, but True,” after the previously released “No Rest” & “Checkin’,” with only one of those cuts making it here on her debut, which opens up with a phone message from a dude who’s clearly playing some mind games on her & unfortunately, she gets made a fool out of cause she was feeling him. It sucks when people aren’t straight up with you from the jump but on her “StickyNoteFreestyle,” she lets it all spill out, a bit hesitant to give him the space he’s asking for but ultimately doing so, much to her chagrin.
Like any breakup, you tell yourself you don’t give a fuck at 1st, but then it starts to set in & you sometimes begin questioning yourself like, am I “Good Enough” & if so, what am I for in your life? Sex can’t be the only thing that she’s suitable for; Devy Stonez is along for the ride to reciprocate that energy, playing the role of the side dude. Still, it’s just not the same result she was getting from her past love, so she finds herself “Checkin’” in on him from afar. Possibly annoyed at the fact that now he’s doing better & being the man that she needed him to be prior before the mess was made & perhaps he’s doing the same too, jealous that she seems to be taking it so well.
On “Tell Me,” she’s demanding answers; tell her what exactly she did wrong to deserve this. She did nothing but try to give you the love she felt you deserved, but it’s all good; she’s relaxed by it. Just do you & she’ll do her, keep your distance & though she’s moving on, it’s always going to sting like the bees amongst the “Flowers” you refused to give her, so fuck it. She’s going to pick them herself, encouraging other ladies who might be or find themselves in a similar position to do the same & what a way to close this empowering concept that is her debut. One can only surmise where she’s headed after this & I hope he can’t stand to see her doing good cause she will be better off regardless of his feelings that she now invalidates, hurts don’t it?
