Adam René - Vanity (Single)
If you aren't familiar with Adam, what rock have you been living under cause the man has delivered countless classics, but this ain't the Adam Jimenez on "Congratulations" anymore or the "Sadboy," back when he changed his last name to René. He is a new & improved man, devoting his life to Christ & after all the blessings this new path has brought to him, a loving wife, the start-up of Saint Clubhouse, amongst many other blessings that I'm glad to see be gifted to my brother. Being that he was in such a dark place during the making & success of those two albums I mentioned above. It's only right he takes that faith that has always been sprinkled throughout his music from the get-go & spins it on its head for a full 360 moment with his latest "Vanity."
With the cover art being shot by our very own Carter, who's been doing Adam's photoshoots for quite some time now. It's beautiful to see them still collaborating once again on beauty as such, being that this may be Adam's most important, let alone best release to date. It's not only based on the poignancy of the sound but also the lyrics, detailing how he needed to fade away from the spotlight that he was in cause it just wasn't filling what was missing inside him. Most would look at that as crazy cause how can one possibly give that up, but Adam knows just as well as we do that. It's not something you can just give up, so instead, he allows his love of Christ to work those fingers across those guitar strings & power his vocal work, which has only improved drastically.
I've never been real religious or spiritual, but Adam is so impeccable a guy that you can't help but feel that loving energy transfer to you whenever you hear him. Maybe that is what I'm personally missing in my life & I should stop being so hesitant cause all these things we think are going to bring us happiness don't always deliver on that promise. That surely has been the case for me & every single last lyric here is precisely how I'm feeling these days. This single is the love that I've needed in my life & I'm grateful because Adam has brought so many blessings into my life. I wouldn't know Carter if it wasn't for him; therefore, I wouldn't be here writing this. I guess he's always been a spiritual advisor for me, a godsend if you will, so maybe just let go & let God lead the way. It could be what your missing cause I never thought I'd be praying again, but he got me doing it more these days, another 360 moments for me & all I have to thank is God for placing him in my life.
