Southside Hoodlum - Lost Files (Album)

At the end of last year, Southside Hoodlum had dropped an EP titled “Lost Files” via YouTube of tracks that didn’t make the cut to appear on his previous projects. They were b-side records that Hoodlum & producers like Ihatehawtboy, Cub$cout, Veno The Builder & Big Tex Johnny had linked on but never saw the light of day. That is, however, when earlier this week, Hoodlum had unexpectedly released those tracks, including 11 more in his newly released album titled “Lost Files” that charted on the Apple charts in the Rap/Hip-Hop catalog in the #83 spot currently.

As mentioned, some of the tracks had been out already, including the RexGotbandz-featured record “Southside Baby” & B.I.A (Brown In America) which both have been fan-favorite singles since day one. Other tracks people have been gravitating to are “Smoking On Kiesha” & the Rxalu Loaded-assisted track “Wolves” just by us peeping a little through social media. We can hear why some of these tracks might not have made the cut on projects just because they are one-offs but in a good way since they have a different style to what Hoodlum was embarking on to make his album feel more personal. These are some of the block beaters we’ve come to expect to hear shake up the concrete streets while they are put on rotation for your week & weekend. He even provided two of his tracks, “Enemies” & “Leave U Alone,” to get the screwed treatment on the project to help balance out the sounds from the album. It wasn’t meant to be an entire fledge project, but the fans have helped to change that since they’ve been expressing gratitude for the release and have been making sure that Hoodlum knows it.

Masked up like the cover shot by Wavez/Club Galleria photographer, That Kid Carter, Hoodlum has captured an essence to his art when displaying it out for the world to see. Ain’t no list necessary to show how real he is and how much support the city has for him. Check the scoreboard and see him continue to win by peeping his latest project here while sharing it around on all social media avenues.
