Tez Pariah - Like Yo Damn Daddy (Album)
On his 3rd release & 1st since 2018’s “Revenge of the Moonwalkers”, Tez is back to beat on that ass “LIKE YO DAMN DADDY”, at least lyrically give you that good ole fashioned ass whooping. Things open up with “MONEY ROMANCE” & instantly, I’m already impressed with the 1st line & of the hook no less, I mean, we haven’t even gotten to the verses yet & already I’m being hit with a double entendre & I don’t think I would’ve understood it off rip had I not stumbled across these damn “Big Bank” TikToks but I just find that double to be so simplistically brilliant! Tez has this real bassy texture to his vocals, it’s so monotone & nonchalant the way he swaggers throughout that introduction.
On “GUNPLAY FLOW”, Tez blends this sing songy autoned laced flow of his with introspective lyrics & numerous metaphors & punches throughout & the warped production is just so in sync with his voice, I couldn’t picture hearing anybody else drip like codeine over these records, real molasses like. Ryan Milla tags along to declare that they have “NO FAMILY MEMBERS” cause knowing them is a privilege & they don’t just toss words like “family” or “brother” around too lightly cause you simply can’t trust many people, let alone know their true intentions so they’d much rather roll solo dolo than to deal with any of that nonsense.
On “LET ME KNOW SUMTHIN’”, Tez flows seamlessly over the subdued production, it’s so subtle & poignant & the game he’s spitting over it will surely lull her into a sense of fantasy only to find that it’s surely reality & she couldn’t be more elated, it’s honestly the voice that’ll grab her but once she hears the sincerity in his words, oh she’ll surely let him know something then. The Texas feel of these records is superb, it’s almost like a psychedelic sorta spin on that Texas sound, his voice has a lot to do with that Texas sound, I’m sure you’d agree so give him that damn gate code so he can slide on through & show you what a good time really is.
On “LIFT YOU UP”, it’s clear that he’s not just trying to get in her, he wants to help build up her confidence as well as her lifestyle, he doesn’t want her to worry about a damn thing as long as she’s faithful to him. Now that’s a man you ladies oughta take a swing at trying to snag! Be it the posse cut “PE$o BEAT”, where all these MC’s bring their A Game over a subdued beat or 10kdunkin contributing his swagger to “JUST BECAUSE”, it takes two to “TANGO” along with this beautiful 3rd offering from Pariah so sit back & get lost in his warped reality he’s been so generous to let us step foot in.
