Y2 - Prophecy2 (Album)

On his third release of 2020, the enigmatically versatile Y2 picks up where the “God Face.” left off & instantly levitates over meditative production, flexing his crooning capabilities. He’s nothing “Like You” but has never met anyone like you. He’s encouraging the listener to let their soul speak for them & allow their vulnerability to come into frame ever so gracefully like a trust fall with no one but the ground surrounding you. Waiting for you to sink right through it until you realize that no one will love you like yourself, you’re all you have in the grand scheme of things.

Y continues to float high above the rest with his uniquely ridiculous flow, “Still Looking Down” on those who did the same to him as he was coming up & then spitting on them as he reaches even higher altitudes on the psychedelic “Prophecy2”. Hearing “Colors” & calling on J Soulja & T.F. to witness them with him, sounding like a fish out of “Bath Water” when he’s crooning to his invitee & she might be willing to do anything once he hits her with the “Humdelelele.”

Y2 will always be the one to do “The Most,” as he does with each offering, sounding more & more ambidextrous as he continues with his consistency, which with elite craftsmanship like this, seems seemingly impossible. Still, if anyone can pull it off, it’s a chaotically complex artist like Y2 & “I See No Lies” in what I said. The man is a chameleon of sorts & it’s once again beautifully exemplified on another masterful addition to his ever-growing catalog. He ain’t going to stop “Coming For Blood” anytime soon, so I’d “Shu Shu Shu” away if I was you, “Rapper Aesthetics” can’t hold a candle to his artistic & vocal flexibilities. It’s forever verbal acrobatics with this madman.
