San Lorenzo - Swing (Album)
San Lorenzo is back with three gorgeous bursts of emotion with his latest “Swing,” entirely produced by Bonus Stage!. The two work together so magically that each of these records lying right between wind & water with an undertone of being stuck between a rock & a hard place. Underneath it, as San lets his vulnerability reign all over these equally infectious beats, he’s chosen here. Still, we already knew he has a unique ear.
He “Never Thought” many things would happen, but they have; sometimes, it’s just destiny. He’s fallen head over heels with this certain someone. Still, he’s holding back his feelings no longer; he enjoys her presence but ultimately doesn’t need her like that & that beat is the perfect canvas for him to express these emotions, real nice glittery pop chimes throughout; they came through swinging! Linking with The Yamasexuals, they all float, on the move, goosebump-inducing crooning on this meditative number. It’s like once they spotted her, everything surrounding them came to a standstill, both of their eyes locking in, slowly moving towards each other. The twirly R&B, it’s like they’re dancing on Saturn’s rings, sounding very much like they’re spiraling down the overindulgence of drugs & alcohol sitting up in their systems, just letting the out of body experience take over.
The best cut out of these three, hands down, is the finale with “Closure,” the beat is doing all kinds of things & San is treating it like a vocal playground with how versatile he’s crooning over this enjoyable & nostalgic esque production. Of course, it’s short, some of the best songs are this concise I’ve come to find, but all in all, this is easily some of San’s best work, Bonus Stage! as well, they both came together to go through swinging & left with home run after home run.
