Nathi - Still Get Lost In U (Video)
Bairi is at it again with the introduction to another new artist for the site. (Might have to give her an A&R position with the WAVEZ soon). Yesterday evening on her IG story, Bairi shared a quick snippet of R&B songstress Nathi's latest visual, "Still Get Lost In U," where the preview has me overwhelmed with wonderment since I couldn't believe the astounding sounds I was hearing. The rise in the soulful tone sets the mood just right to give the listeners such a relaxing listening experience to endure when playing this record.
Steady pacing with the beat, Nathi doesn't waste time sharing her admiration of being lost in this special someone's character. While love is filling the air, she has to hold the temptations since she doesn't want to go through them anymore. She continues this narrative but in Portuguese with a direction in emotions that explain that she doesn't know why life is bringing her back even though she's trying to forget them. I enjoy this back to back tempo of divulging into the chorus in coming back into her native tongue to let out these imitate feelings. From the harmonious production to the melodic waves of her vocals prowess, the track is so powerful that it is going beyond to create a soundscape of soul. The visual she has with it is just as powerful as we see the TreeGirl all over the cities walk in this psychedelic video that is just as mesmerizing as the record itself. Simultaneously, she travels through subways, downtown New York, shots of her cleansing her self and other great captures that bring the essence of the track to life. Such a remarkable ballad that I'm sure many listeners will endure their personal trauma to the track and endure the same emotions they've gone through. Records like this are the venting regimes that we enjoy to hear, feeling like we have no one to tell, yet the world is available to us to push our voices out and share with the world in hopes people will listen. I'm here to say Nathi, I hear your pain, and I can relate it to past relationships that teach me to cope better in life. It's music like this that elevates the sound to be better and continue touching its listeners' souls.
After doing my own research, I learned the track was actually a bonus off her 2020 release project, "The TreeGirl Season," which vastly helped me be more familiar with her natural sound that grew expeditiously in my musical palette to enjoy for the many months ahead. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for more content from Nathi in the future, but until then, we'll assist in getting more listeners to her music. Please get familiar with her craft here by sharing it around on all social media avenues.
