Richie Branson - From The Underground To The Stars (Album)

Richie has aspirations that far surpass his underground roots. Still, he is not willing to sacrifice what he knows best anytime soon. This album proves that with its conversationally, introspectively dense lyricism, especially on "Imperfect King," a fitting introduction to an artist who isn't slowing down anytime soon.

We then bleed into the jazzy head bops of "Commoner vs. Kamina," this sounds like Apollo Brown production & Richie's rhymes can get the party started but remain intelligent. Now here come the curveballs pitched with perfection with "Hentai Lamborghini," "If Weeabo Shitposting Was a Song..." (looking like a song title "The Flaming Lips" came up with), "Drift King," these are the stars he's trying to reach, and it's safe to say he's shooting far past them.

The song titles alone will drive you in, the dubstep anime intro "I Almost Retired From Rap to Be an EDM Producer," that's another curveball in an album. I'm not sure what to label this project other than everything is impressive with a very intriguing release & a must-hear.
