Wes Denzel - Don’t Change (Video)
Taken from his beautiful album from earlier in the year, "I Was Almost Happy," Wes Denzel drops off the visuals for one of my personal favorites off the project, "Don't Change." A heartbreakingly uplifting number about fear of commitment, both are unhappy, causes both refuse to change into a version of each other they don't want to be but rather be a version they feel most comfortable with.
Wes calls on Trent Owens to bring the visual treatment to life. Beginning with Wes walking on a lonesome night then teleporting to the retro, sporting a disco rockstar look as he nonchalantly owns up to his refusal of change & parties the pain he's feeling inside away. He's most likely tired of people trying to change him, you either accept him or you don't.
Even though this was merely half the song for the visual, it's still effective, like he isn't giving his all to change like she would like him to truly be. He's also comfortable with the pattern he's had established though part of him wants it to work even if Wes knows in his heart, it inevitably won't. He's sorry he's stuck in his ways, but he's too comfortable to move on.
