Treylen - A Hippie In Tha Hood (Album)

As most of y'all should be aware of, our head honcho Frank Wavez had begun managing an impeccable new artist in Treylen. While he has released two projects, "A Hippie in Tha Hood" could be considered his debut album in terms of how self-defining it is. Which as I always say, every artist should have an album like this, but that on top of how polished it is with the production handled by JP Moore. It's being viewed as his best, yet zaniest & lyrical work elevates to the highest altitudes. This feeling is probably due to that "LSD Bandana," dampening his forehead, allowing his psychedelically tinged music to deep through your pores in one out of body experience that also manages to tap into his inner spirituality. This energy is felt throughout the fervor delivered in each record.

Treylen taps Johnny Shock to haul ass on the tire screeching "Swerve," finding each MC Tokyo drifting throughout the oncoming traffic that is the rap game. Cluttered with people who have no drive in them whatsoever as they speed in & out of every lane, somehow avoiding any collision. Still, once they hit that bump, it's time to exit the vehicle to meet up with Tommy Gunn to get to this "Dirty Money," not necessarily proud of it takes to attain easy yet dirty money. Still, the luxuries that can come as a result can be a little too enticing to not hop back in the whip, full speed ahead in the fast lane permanently.

Whether taking you through his daily routines on "Plugged In," reveling in familial festivities. Wishing for no issues whatsoever on "White Bandana," though it will be issued if you're approaching him incorrectly. Detailing his hood's appreciation for his realness on "Hood Hippie," even giving some love to the ladies on "Mami" & the smash hit that is "Trap Vibez." There's nothing but inclinations musically on here, no lows, despite how sluggish the indica laced musicality coupled with his monotone nonchalant flow can make the listener feel. He offers nothing but the most high on "A Hippie in Tha Hood," so light up blunt after blunt to this, "Pass That," & let's get lost in the Hip Hop equivalent of marijuana smoke & acid trips.
