Reek & Sage - Need It / Met You On The Internet (Video)
After dropping off a stellar follow up to their opus titled “The Beautiful Hour,” Reek & the almighty Sage offer the first visual off the project & it’s a double feature cause who could ever get enough of these two? They spoil us & we don’t ever take it for granted; they never fail short on their promises to us because when Sage said this visual was on par with “Vision of Love,” some may not have believed in the tree so much being that that visual was so flawless as well as the record, but the two do so well is that they expand within their own sound, finding new ways to crumble the cookie & they kept their promise cause these visuals are as captivating, so colorful.
On “Need It,” Sage delivers his usual carpet for Reek to float above gracefully, letting his girl know that these other dudes can’t bring it as he does. He knows what she needs & unlike these others, he’s going to give it to her; he’s the rap game “Barry White,” he’s too fucking smooth with it for her not to fall to her knees whether Reek is crooning or spilling game matched equally with drip, he’s just too fly for her to resist.
In the second part of the video, Reek gets more virtual on the warped “Met You On The Internet,” a tale of love in our modern world, posing the question as to what really is intimacy in our digital age. Still, its sound is so nostalgic yet futuristic, you’re either reminded of pulling girls on Twitter or pulling girls on MySpace. Either way, it’s a record for the times we’re living in, where social media is literally everything. Still, it doesn’t control Reek & he certainly doesn’t let it interfere in his relationships.
