lilbootycall - 23 (Album)

Another very intriguing figure in our scene, the loveable Lilbootycall, is back after last year's excellent Freshman effort "Jesus Said Run It Back" with his sophomore effort "23". It's beautiful how much more polished his music has become since his "Sailor Moon" days, now crafting solid pop melodies with more theme here to shoot him closer to superstar status. The party immediately kicks off with the summery vibes of "Stay" where he's pleading with his love for her to remain where she's at now so he can continue giving her the world & showing her a great time, he knows what you want & can show you if you accept. Still, if not, he doesn't have the time to waste; whoever she is, she has him so twisted in which he doesn't appreciate it.

"On & On" finds him regretting a long night of overindulgence that resulted in him inadvertently fucking things up with a good one; he has a hard time letting go & doesn't plan on losing grip anytime soon. Still, he steadily seeks a "Do or Die" on the Liana Banks assisted cut; he needs someone who can accept his lifestyle & everything that comes with it. "Take Away" is an ode to toxic love where "Ooh Yeah" is a braggadocio head bopper. He may have a smash hit on his hands with this one; I'm going to need at least a video for this addictive tune, but back to the album. He can't seem to find love, maybe he's not compatible when it comes to love, but he still so badly craves it on the trembling "Can't Find It," another cut that could use a little push as a single.

Lilbootycall wants to know if you're still "With Me" on his 23 album. An excellently crafted & concise follow-up to his naive debut; he sounds much more comfortable in the space he's in & it's resulted in more polished records that have the potential to skyrocket him into superstardom, as he rightfully deserves.
