7098 - Brk 4rm The City (Album)
II’ll credit King Khali for putting me onto the greatness that is 7098. After his feature on “Seen It All,” & he did the damn thing on there, when I saw that he dropped a debut project, I immediately gravitated towards it & it does not disappoint. He raps with such determination & conviction, offering music to ride to, to meditate to & free your mind of anything that may be troubling it.
On the intro, 7098 is off to the races, no longer concerned so much about remaining where he’s comfortable. He has a dream to chase, but he lets his people know that he’ll be back but not until he makes something of himself to give back to his city. He needs some “Time/Space” to make his moves & hopes you can understand, urging you to follow your dreams as well, hoping he is chasing & inspiring others. Him & Mufasa Enzor are “Falling” head over heels in love & it feels so good, you feel it too, you can’t deny it, they have so many beautiful things to show you if you’re willing to keep your eyes open & as fixated as his are on you. Still, he doesn’t wanna rush into anything, “Take Yo Time,” in coming around.
7098 got the “Juice” lyrically, pondering whether or not to spill his citrusy drip onto these fruits. Still, it’s so much that his drip spills onto them anyway, effortless in his seamless lyrical skills, but he can even supply the vibes, don’t fuck them up for him cause you aren’t on his level. “Who Do You” finds him assessing himself, reflecting, asking himself what he’s in this for; he knows who & what he does it for but poses that same question to other artists; most artists are in this to get a quick bag. Still, he’s in this for the respect & clearly for his people & his dedication to his craft will only ensure that he’ll attain those goals & then some; what is your purpose?
