Make sure you got some of these new releases playing during your weekend activities.

NASAAN - Pass The Courvoisier Freestyle (Video)

I enjoy receiving new music since it takes something creative to get my curiosity, but this latest visual from NASAAN got that & my attention. I say about yearly; someone will hop on the “Pass The Courvoisier” beat and do a mediocre job. I can’t remember the last time I heard it done right, well that changed earlier in the week when NASAAN dropped his rendition in a freestyle, where not only did the raps do the Pharrell-beat justice, but the visual did Busta Rhymes-level creativity shit too. Thinking comedic and nostalgic, he performs an eccentric version of the famed release and crafts into his own, perfecting the elements that made it a hit and sizing it to his prominent style. NASAAN, hands down, got the best video out right now, but don’t let that stray away from the esteemed raps he was serving on here. Suave and eccentric wordplays fitting his cunning aura, ain’t nobody starting the year this crazy, and you got to wonder if he has more like this in store for the future, so if I was y’all I get familiar with NASAAN real fast because his time to be more known is coming & we just put him on our list of artists to watch for 2024.

Natalia Chacon - Pretty Girl Bounce (Video)

I love what I do because you could be browsing social media for new music one minute, then, boom, something you haven’t heard of but enjoy immediately. I’m speaking about Reno native Natalia Chacon, whose latest release titled “Pretty Girl Bounce” is muy caliente with how she is heating up the temperature with her raps on this record that is breaking the thermometer every chance it gets. Catchy chorus with the lyrical ability to set the function off like dynamite, she’s blowing up on the scene, turning a massive hit into a party anthem that will catch on in no time. That Ohio Players-sample will always get me, and it’s formed here to make a sensational bop and something I can see playing from the West Coast to Down South with heat sweating on the trail. The video got her deep in the cut with some fine mamictas partying it up, not needing any men to have a good time, which she promiscuously states it on occasion in the track, giving more reason for the haters to hate. Still, she enjoys it since it brings more attention to her notoriety. Natalia is dishing out prominent wordplays and delivering a sensational performance that you can’t help but become a fan instantly of her zesty sound.

Liiito - Like Me (Single)

Liiito recently talked about how he enjoyed having his releases flourish on SoundCloud and wants to bring that momentum back to the forefront. He did just that earlier in the week when he had his newest single titled “Like Me” surfaced, which almost felt like day one shit, and with the enriching sounds Liiito brings to the Bamsworth Belli-production you know the feeling this soon-to hit brings is astronomical. Even on these cold days, Liiito brings the fire whenever he gets to rapping, boastfully comparing his success to his opposition; you can see why he gets the amount of hate he does; no one can do it like him, even in your best days you couldn’t even fit inside his shadow. Liiito has a way to be suave with the words, especially in this record where each line is met with an esteemed essence, perfecting a track you can keep in rotation for the months ahead.

Mila Bucks - Blame Me (Video)

Checking last-minute submissions through Twitter, I came across this teaser of Mila Bucks's latest release titled “Blame Me” and was intrigued. I wasn’t familiar with her Milabucks sounds, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the release, where two hours of it in my daily rotation had me hooked, and the need to showcase it for our viewership was high. The harmonious whispers with the uptempo production, how can you not be a fan of this ballad? Mila Bucks is mysterious throughout the release, detailing that she’s to blame for a past relationship not working. She confesses that the problem started with the freedom she gave you; it had her near the deep end to do it, but what choices did you leave her? Then you have the audacity to put it all on her; the word “blame” is chilling coming from you. How cold could you be not to see the real reason for its end? The topic is heartbreaking, and the emotional state she bares to telling her side is beautiful. It’s a record I loved immediately, and it introduced me to Mila Bucks in the best way possible.

Daylyt - Sunday (Single)

Sundays are meant for us to reflect on the week and what comes the next day; Daylyt does precisely that on his latest release titled “Sunday,” which dropped simultaneously as the visual to the record that begins with seeing his days on stage performing, his battle rap years, and where his journey lies now in a poetic intro before he begins his verse. Venting the best way, he knows how by putting himself on the soap box to show how his life could’ve gone due to reckless choices and lifestyle mistakes; he’s not perfect in this world, but leaving it in god’s good graces is the goal. The game needs changing, and Daylyt devises a blueprint in lyrical form for us to see the vision and what he has on stage to achieve that dream. Daylyt always has a vivid way of showing his talent and is never afraid to tell the harsh truths of life. It’s another example of being real with a purpose: to make better decisions with what we have and hope for a better outcome. Daylyt is the truth in the flesh, and nothing will stop his reign from completing.

Pat Ron & Coach Tev - CNN (Single)

Pat Ron & Coach Tev are back in the mix for their first collaboration of the new year in what is being revered as the hardest song out right now. “CNN” showcases both emcees in a prestigious manner, letting off a barrage of esteem rap addressing the opposition from beginning to end. If the production isn't causing enough chaos, then the conquering flows they deliver are. Back to back in the cut, they go off in tangible fashion, Pat Ron coasting with the smoke-induced verses and Coach Tev with the keen precision to go at rapper’s head top with the lyrical ammunition that got them leveled up on their peers. The single is the first introduction to an upcoming release from the two rappers, with more to follow in the forthcoming weeks.

Casey Veggies - Put The City On (Single)

After having a successful 2023 with singles, an EP & features, Casey Veggies is back in the cut at the start of 2024 with a new single for his fans to start the new year off right. His latest bop titled “Put The City On” got Dylvinic behind the boards for this infectious track, highlighting Casey’s repertoire since he’s always known for lively up the function with a track like this. Casey has been at the forefront of putting on for LA, where his consistency to rep it everywhere he goes is legendary. From the days in the blogs to his performances, he brings LA to every block he roams. Comparing success with him is going to make you sick, so don’t even try it; Casey Veggie's sauve mannerism is reflected in high quality for the release, still showing with all the years under him, he can still take your chick with the raps and it ain’t that difficult for him to do so. For the visual, Casey is seen with Inglewood as his backdrop of the visual treatment, soaking in the West Coast sun rays and admiring the peace he has in life. I’m hoping the intro featuring the late great Nipsey Hussle championing Casey Veggies & mentioning the importance of SXSW means that we could potentially see Casey Veggies at the annual Austin Music Fest this year. It’s where I became a fan of his music, and I would love to have that full-circle moment of interviewing them after our blog took off. One can hope, right?

P$O Kwama feat EBO, Donny Domino & LovelyB - Gemini Pride (Video)

A track that I’ve enjoyed on occasions received the visual treatment this week as P$O Kwama released “Gemini Pride” off his 2022 EP “Shades Of Blue,” which features EBO, Donny Domino & LovelyB displaying an elegant viewing to enjoy over and over again. One of the highlights of the track that I found incredible was it gave you a diverse experience to enjoy R&B, hip-hop & poetry formed together that didn’t feel out of place. It perfected the craft of collaboration when all sides of talent connect to construct something beautiful, and here they delivered just that. You could never go wrong with the song playing in your ears; now you witness the creativity with your eyes, a splendid concept that comes to life that I’m sure views will continue to rise throughout the weekend.
