The Weekly Dip 3/10/23

While many of y’all are preparing to enjoy the long week of festivities at SXSW, we wanted to bring your some of the releases to come by our feed to enjoy for the weekend. We’re at SXSW with a few days & time available for interviews, photoshoots & more; hit us up if you’ll be out there.

MJ Apollo - Computer (Video)

In the second installment of his “Digital Sunset” series, MJ Apollo links back with BXRFILMS, which I think the combination workload of these two creatives is by far my favorite in the city, which brings us his latest release titled “Computer,” where his mysterious factor is put on display in such an artistic fashion that I can help crown this drop as my favorite of the month. MJ Apollo has been such an out-of-the-box artist that his supreme style of artistry is a surprise every time he drops a track or visual. Mj’s raps are brushes to the canvas with how he paints vivid tales of his life story while boastfully reacting about his pedigree amongst his musical peers. I know with the last releases, he’s gearing up for something incredible to come out, and I’m not going to speculate anything; I want to be surprised with it.

Sunnitharapper feat Salma Sims - Moody (Video)

After ending February with her hit single “Moody,” Sunnitharapper continues the success of the Salma Sims-featured record by dropping the visual in the second week of March, where already the video release is seeing 1.5K views & counting. DGreenFilmz is behind the lens on the visual where he’s capturing Sunni & Salma in their prowess form of not giving a fuck with their middle fingers out the sunroof pointed at the haters & doubters. Fierce with the ability to spit a hot sixteen that could melt your face if you get close, they are looking fly as ever where their stylish look could kill even if you staring from far away. Sunni is putting these basic broads in the check and rapping better than your favorite rapper, male or female. Please don’t sleep on the next up, or you’ll end up regretting it when you're off to bed cause she's bound to be a nightmare for the rap game real soon.

Dreamiecloud - $$$ (Single)

Another Dreamiecloud single to fall head over heels with comes today in her latest dreamy-filled sequence titled “$$$.” Dreamie got them dead presidents like a history book; she loves to be spoiled with money, buying up all her favorite things that make her smile. Her bank account looks hefty from the cash she’s stacking, and she knows money is the reason for her happiness, so the more she spends, the more her facial expression begins to grin. It’s one of her catchiest releases, and something I know the woman with have obsessions with Kirby, Hello Kitty & Sailor Moon will go crazy to hear in their listening experience. It’s another hit single for you to get lost in and feel like you're entering her world little by little, where once you know it, you're surrounded by her tranquil vocals, deep in a cloud with a pink atmosphere to keep you dreaming forever.

Erykah Officer - Curve Queen (Video)

Earlier in the week, I came across the visual treatment to Erykah Officer’s sultry hit “Curve Queen,” where I remember seeing her name previously featured on Chris Patrick’s “Lead Me On” record. I’m glad to have found it coming across our feed since I hadn’t been familiar with solo work, and now I can say that I’m a new fan of her vocal presence. She slays the moniker, the curve queen with class; she doesn’t have time for the goofy ass dudes spitting that weak conversation, especially since they damn well know they don’t deserve her. Don’t hate the playa, hate the game, you upset that she turned your tricks into her treat. She rather be stacking up the cash and remaining solo focusing on her goals until, of course, she gets lonely. She’s A1 with the cadence in her tone and strutting her body throughout the video, knowing precisely what she wants; the epitome of queen shit. Don’t come messing up a good thing for her because you want to be trifling; she’s not up for manipulation and doesn’t care for the kid games, so don’t playing with her thinking you're something bigger than your not; she’ll humble that ass with grace. My new favorite artist has approached our site, and best believe we’ll make sure to keep featuring her more moving forward.

J Allan feat Awkward Lowlife & 3undred - Braindead (Video)

The trio of melancholy madness forms within J Allan's latest visual treatment, where he linked with DavieeDavee to bring forth his release titled “Braindead,” which has the So Catchy-producer on the boards for the somber hit with Awkward LowLife & 3undred accompany him in the mix. Incarcerated behind bars and not the ones made of steel, the two artists clash with their demons in the hallucinogenic tale of downing vices until they no longer have functions of the mind state to drown out the thoughts of wickedness & sorrow. The combination of the production is fierce with the chaotic nature of the crooning both artists deliver, sharing the pain & hurt they faced every day but showing face to not everyone knows their genuine emotions. It’s probably one of the most profound and overlooked songs in the city, where I recommend checking out and being introduced to a new wave of the soundscape that’s forming right before your eyes.

MsGold feat Peso Peso - Call The Plug Up (Video)

Off her recent project “That’s A Awful Lot Of Gold,” MsGold released the visual treatment to her Peso Peso-featured record “Call The Plug Up” earlier in the week, where the video is currently sitting at 3.3K views & counting. Club to club while fucking it up, MsGold is delivering the sensational hit with a laid-back approach in speaking about her why her life is better than yours in wild series of bars. At the same time, Peso Peso follows it up with vigor to cut up the block with raps and slices it open with the reflection from jewels around his neck. You would think this record is spilling out in gold with how it sounds, another reason to continue paying attention to MsGold, who’s climbing up past the competition and not looking back at the haters.

Bianca B-Lo - Kiss Me (Single)

Bianca B-Lo's first single of 2023 comes with an amatory description of the emotions surrounding a companion in her record titled “Kiss Me.” Bianca B-Lo is someone we’ve grown to notice that she never holds back her feelings in her music; here, nothing changes in this heartfelt ballad where she confesses the intense feeling of intimacy with the person that makes her feel whole. The softness of their skin, the touches, and the warmth of their kisses on her lips send her into a frenzy of bliss. With you, she’s in the most comfortable state she’ll ever be in and will sing to the heavens how much a kiss from you means to her. She is not holding back her feelings anymore; she adores the nurturing affect of being close in your arms and feeling your kisses again & again.
