Your favorite surfers are back with some more tidal waves to crash into the weekend to, after all, is it really a beach party if you don’t have the proper tunes to enjoy said party? Fret not if you’ve yet to find the right playlist, we got you covered!

Ben Reilly - Brand New Free (Video)

Earlier this week, Ben Reilly dropped another visual treatment off his “Freelance: Charlie” album titled “Brand New Free,” which has only been out for less than 24 hours and has already become a new favorite among his growing fanbase. We don’t think we have to mention it again, but we will; Ben Reilly is so creative when it comes to his visuals resume, and he clearly can’t miss. One of the standouts scene for me got to be the inspired Joker scene which is a crazy sequence. Not only does he produce these inane visuals better than your favorite rapper, but he also spits harder than your favorite rapper. Ain’t no way that there are still people sleeping on Ben Reilly; these drops are going to be even crazier the more we go forward, so we think it’s time for y’all to stop hating, wake up and get to admiring this lyrical masterpiece when it’s presented in front of you. - Frank Campos

Claire Yotts - Angel Dust (Video)

Coming across our timeline earlier in the week was this feverous & aesthetically pleasing visual from Massachusetts native Claire Yotts titled “Angel Dust.” I instantly gravitated to the release due to its sensational dreamy sound mixed with Claire’s ability to float on the record with ease, spitting an ethereal flow that will surely keep your feet off the ground in pure wonderment. She thought she had something special with you, but sometimes things aren’t as they seem. She’s good, baby, so don’t worry; she knows you may be mad now, but you’ll get over it eventually. Claire confesses that she’s on the hunt for the same type of love as Romeo & Juliet, till death do you part type of romance in her next relationship, hoping it comes to her soon. We’ll be keeping Claire close on our radar for future releases, and we hope y’all will be doing the same. - Frank Campos

Loki Loveless - Lonely Loki (Video)

Last week, Loki Loveless released the visual treatment to his record “Lonely Loki” off his “Words Hurt” EP, which shows the POV shots of Loki walking through the city streets on his lonesome journey. Produced by Duvin & J Allan, Loki is heard battling his demons who want to see him tumble over to the deep end. He passionately croons where this went awry, with his love stomping his heart in two and leaving him in thru cold lonely world to pick it back up again. Vices, weariness, and the blues can keep someone from crashing into oblivion, but Loki seems to have found his balance with the three things that have kept me sane for the moment. It’s another unexpected drop to see Loki Loveless awaken from his shell by giving us another creative release and see how explosive his artistry is becoming as he pushes his range. - Frank Campos

Beautiful Lou - a voice from the sky (Video)

Fresh off the release of his latest project titled “the impermanence of everything we do” and its follow-up of the instrumental pack for the album, it’s safe to say Beautiful Lou has had an immaculate year so far which he continues to keep the good time rolling in his most recent drop titled “a voice from the sky” which is delivering another visual for us to enjoy his prominent display of style and flow.

“Down for the bullshit in San Antonio like Dennis Rodman”

is by far one of the hardest bars I’ve heard here in the city; Beautiful Lou is impeccable with the wordplay as well as the production; it’s no lacking in his pedigree to be based with the raps, he’s skillful with the work he produces out and this latest joint is just another example of that workmanship. He showcases his energy every time a release surfaces, which is why his shit is so far beyond greatness. Take it from us here; if you’re not fucking with Beautiful Lou’s music, then what are you doing with your life? - Frank Campos

J.Bad210 - Foodstamps (Video)

Backing up everyone while he gets his fuego shuffle on, J.Bad210 goes shopping through the aisles at HEB on his Matt Xplorz-directed visual titled “Foodstamps.” The release has J.Bad serving the cunning yet eccentric raps while dishing out a pretty comical viewing in the process, but don’t let it distract you from the fact he’s heating this Santana MTB’s produce hit hotter like a junkie’s spoon. He’s downright hilarious throughout this drop, from his zany antics to his farceur lyrics that compliment the skillful manner of his flow which is on par with some of the top artists in the city. Expect his name to be glowing more ahead as we await the next upcoming release from him. - Frank Campos

WanMor - Every Pretty Girl In The City (Video)

Everyday since it was said, don’t know who brought up the ridiculous sentiment first but it’s like, that silly notion that R&B is dead or there’s no good R&B left gets more & more put to rest. It’s beautiful seeing this resurgence of R&B but I wouldn’t even say that, it’s always been there, with a lot of great artists hiding in plain sight & to be honest with you, I’ve personally been dying to see another R&B group cause it feels like those are few & far between these days. Thankfully, WanMor got us covered! If you don’t know these young gentlemen, they’ve been blowing up with their reels of them freestyle singing & man do they sound so well bouncing off one another. It makes sense they sound this good cause they are actually the sons of Wanya from the legendary Boyz II Men & are now signed to another legend in Mary J Blige so you know damn well they bringing that flavor & on their latest single, it’s just so infectious, with all that in mind, there’s not much else I can say, the music & visuals speak for themselves!

Mariah Carey - The Roof (When I Feel the Need) (feat. Brandy) (Video)

You mean to tell me that, to further celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mariah Carey’s classic “Butterfly” album, she’s blessing us with a live, in studio performance of one of the best records on there but, she’s making this classic even more great by adding the legendary Brandy to it as well? Don’t talk to me about R&B being dead when we still got these beautiful ladies, these icons still reminding listeners how timeless not only these records are but their voices cause man, these two haven’t missed a single note in their decade plus careers, so grateful they’re still here blessing us!

Lyrics Born - Diamond Door (feat. Princess Shaw) (Video)

Don’t you just love seeing all these legends still putting out their best music this late in their careers? Lyrics Born is one of the most underrated artists of our time & the man hasn’t aged one bit, in every sense of the word. He still has that unique voice that’ll leave the ladies swooning. On “Diamond Door”, which may be his most elegant single yet, he brings Princess Shaw along for the vibes to add even more magic to this mystical little number. Music like this is pure ambrosia, sure to satiate consumers who are looking for a quality meal musically, it’s just such a tasty record! Lyrics Born got all the lyrics, musicality & swagger to be bigger than he actually is so please stream this record cause he got a hit on his hand with this one!

The 1975 - All I Need To Hear (Video)

This may be the best era of the 1975 since their self ti tiled debut & not just cause of all the black & white usage of coloring either, it’s just this sound, their sound only continues to improve & expand on what makes them so great in the 1st place. You can’t even label them a Pop band anymore, this has some late 70’s soft rock feels to it but still with that unique 1975 flavor, the smooth guitars, lyrics, the guys are still making their most earnest music to date & with 4 singles now deep, I’d say their upcoming “Being Funny In A Foreign Language” may be their ultimate magnum opus & that’s saying a lot cause they always deliver great albums but something about this one just feels different.

Planet Asia & NugLife - NUG TUNIN’ (Video)

In terms of intelligent, high quality lyricism, not many are as prolific & consistent with it than the almighty Planet Asia. I don’t think this man rests at all cause he’s always delivering these upper echelon bars & now linking with producer extraordinaire NugLife, the two are here to bring listeners some of that higher learning to open up everyone’s third eye with. You ain’t never heard a weed song more enlightening in your life, don’t even try to argue it, just roll up some of that good & let Planet Asia expand your psyche further than you thought it ever could!
