Free Party - Distant (Video)
All praise to the songsandsamples IG page, which I'm a frequent viewer to the posts they do and enjoy when they make light of new artists that the masses should be aware of. Yesterday evening, while I was doing my daily browsing through IG looking for new content to write up, I came across a post for the Maryland rap duo, Free Party. They posted the visual to their track "Middle School" to highlight the duo's sound. I was quite impressed with the preview I peeped from the post, where immediately it had me digging into their content a little more. It wasn't long until I saw that they had released a project earlier this year titled "Mirrors In A Dark Room" that was an incredible introduction to their content and quickly became a project that sits in rotation currently in the whip and home speakers. I continue to find more content from some of their previous work, including some recent visuals they had released. To my surprise, it was only a week ago, so I thought it would be perfect to have our viewers introduce to the duo in such a distinctive manner.
The record "Distant" off their project had got the visual treatment which I was excited to see; since hearing the record, I got a lot of braggadocious rhymes from them to showcase their time being distant and now getting back to the plan at hand to making ten grand or more. They speak highly of their charismatic way of stacking up the bread and do outlandish things when obtaining it in bundles, which is a relatable factor that I'm sure many would agree with the same outcome. Just like Lebron, there wanting to bring the team out for a triumphant win to a championship, and word is bond when they speak this into existence, and you can hear the realness behind the line every time you play it. I love the creativity of the video since they wanted to showcase the setting of the record and the delivery of a motion potion sequence that fits in perfectly with the direction of the album. Fans of the duo will understand if they're familiar with them and if not, it would be a great segway for new listeners to head towards the album. We get a nice boisterous hook before the verse, then the outro, which continues, bringing the essence of the first verse, with talks of quitting your job to starting a party hence the name of the duo, such witty lines like this definitely give you a sense of artistry of the two emcees. Making moves under palm trees has to be life when not taking anything for granted. That's why they find peace when there distant, keep far from things that don't give them the motivation necessary to move forward. That's why the move to the city of angels, where vices have taken over celebrity life, is a chance to know these mistakes they were made before so they won't. They want to find some clarity in their direction from running on who they were to, finding what they are, and what it means for them in the long run of life. The visual ends with them in the identical suits they were in throughout the video when the music wasn't playing to them finishing up the burying of the dead but the saved. I enjoy the record because, towards the end, we get this crooning effect that takes this heavenly route for the record before surging into this menacing outro that brings some balance to their movement.
I genuinely enjoyed both the project and the visual releases they've done so far, and they have made a new fan of theirs on this side for sure. I hope to see more content from duo surface in the future. Still, until then, we'll do our due diligence by ensuring our viewers know about their content by checking it out here and making sure they share it around on all social media avenues.
