Lacey Jackson - The Future You See (Single)
Introduced to us by fellow media outlet, BEEN iLL via Twitter, they shared a snippet from Ohio emcee Lacey Jackson that followed with a link to his most recent single “The Future You See”. The record was mesmerizing in nature since it had a harmonious beat attached to it and adding in the impressive lyricism by Lacey Jackson made this a crisp wave to ride through for an amazing listening experience.
It doesn’t take long for Lacey Jackson’s single to get you hooked as let’s the beat breath for 10 seconds before diving into a series of sincere raps. His potent with his wordplay and the verses that follow, he’s emotionally driven on where you can hear his upbringing and growth all in one. “Every bar written on a dotted line and you gon see the pictures when the stars align”, is such a melodic line and I got to give it to him every bar does sounds like a crime on how he’s killing them with it. People are going to look at you and see different futures for your life, some are good and some are bad just on how they perceive you but it’s the future you see for yourself that matters the most. You can change on how they view or say fuck em because you know what’s best for you, they don’t see the struggles and challenges you go through. One day could be a blessing and the rest of the week could be hell, make the future brighter for you and yours with understanding that the days get better forward. This is what I got from the track and could be wrong or overthinking but I like to think there’s a bigger message in the record and he’s describe it the best way he can, through his raps.
I was moved by the track and made me a fan off first listen. I can tell you that it’s been heavy in rotation since that introduction and will continue to be for many weeks ahead. Hope to see a follow up soon but in the meantime we can get others familiar with his content by checking it out and sharing it around on all social media avenues.
