Wasteey Monroe - Winning Season (Album)
At the top of the month, Wasteey Monroe welcomed “Winning Season,” a 10-track project that perfectly complements the summer heat. Both the album and the season are receiving significant attention, mirroring Texas's intense and wild vibe. With features from 1SRAEL, Talinwya, and Nilaray, "Winning Season" doesn't miss an ounce of eccentric action throughout the project. It's a must-have for July and will surely be among your top ten for the year.
Sped up with velocity in his tone, “I Don’t Need a Rug” kicks off the project with intense production and raps that maintain high energy. This intensity doesn't wane as the project transitions seamlessly into the next joint, “Tell Me You Love Me.” Every track becomes more essential to his eccentricity. "North" dives off the deep end with a ballistic rhythm, then transitions expeditiously into the following track, "Bump," which maintains the height of his style and keeps the speakers bumping. While the majority of the project is infused with intense energy, Wasteey includes a few low-tempo singles like the featured track with Nilaray, “Run It,” and my personal favorite, “Teach Ya (Texasboyz),” which is an enthusiastic release. These tracks add a balanced diversity to the album, showcasing his versatility. It’s an ongoing project that deserves to be a standout release for good reason. It’s not comparable to anything out there and truly stands on its own in terms of artistry. While many try to duplicate styles, few hold their own weight. Wasteey Monroe does so in a prominent fashion.
I’m glad to have come across this album when I did, and I implore you to check out what you’ve been sleeping on because it’s bound to be your next favorite thing—guaranteed.
