John Wells - Stop Staring In My Car (Single)
Baltimore native John Wells dropped a new single at the start of this week titled “Stop Staring In My Car,” where he looped the iconic sample of Creative Source’s “I’d Find You Anywhere” while delivering an immaculate array of bars in impressive motion that’s it already shaking up the week to look spectacle for him. Doubling down on the release, her released a visually striking mic drop to the record that has teleporting throughout his city, showcasing his sensational talent to be diabolic with the raps and vicious with imagery.
John Wells begins the track with a warning: never stare in his whip; he doesn’t want you to see y’all direction is opposite. He’s been on a streak of good timing and good looks, with people betting on him more and getting ROI in the process, becoming a blessing in disguise. He stresses the importance of bringing along the people he balls with since they stuck out with him on the days he fell over and brought him back on his feet. John fills us in with updates on those around him & some of the personal matters circling around him. He wants to double up the cash just like the success, and he will give it all he has to make it happen. John Wells's lyrical reign in this track doesn’t disappoint; he consistently delivers heart in his rhymes and has the listeners hear it beat with pride. His first verse seems timid, with bars flying sharper than some throwing stars, and his second verse is agitated and picked up with speed like he’s getting off a lot of pressure he’s been dealing with. It's almost like he’s venting to the production to hear out his woes and attempting to find the balance in it all. John Wells lets his soul speak in the concluding minutes of the track, and hearing it, you can feel the passion that he has for this craft; shedding every ounce of his talent on wax has become somewhat of a coping process for him, and here’s he’s delivered some of his finest work and enough to showcase his artistry is unmatched.
John Wells has never let us down since being introduced to his music. His ability to carry over deep emotions in his art is something special, a place for us to hear his voice and understand his pain. We’re listening, John, and we support you all the way.
