xBValentine - Forever & A Day (Album)
After a few hiccups that prevented the release of xBValentine’s debut album “Forever & A Day” from surfacing, the powers that be upstairs, plus the immersive work of Smooth Vega, helped make it happen for xB. Her anticipated project appeared in stunning fashion in the middle of June, where many fans rejoiced to see the Georgetown native’s work come to fruition and have a chance to hear the hard work she’s put in on the album. She’s mentioned the personal venting she’s endured in completing the 11-track album, taking a bit of a toll to talk about her past experiences & trauma. It eventually led her to become the warrior we hear today, but there were many obstacles she would face headfirst and power through daily. We understood we would be hearing from xBValentine on a more personal note and understand why her hustle was necessary, in which we deemed the project to be the true story of starting from the bottom to now being here.
The album starts with the intro record titled “Darkest Days,” which sounds like a perfect interpretation of her cover art, seeing the clouds darkened with a little bit of light seeping through. She goes into great detail about those days, seeing the darkness in the clouds with her mental health taking a hit. It was one of the moments she felt the most downed since she was young and felt alone in the world, but the depression wouldn’t fully take over. She found peace being friends with her agony and attempting to look past the clouds that covered her shine, the rain pouring, and the storm coming in full force but losing her faith wasn’t an option, so she buckled down and kept her future in God’s hand with it paying off for her now. xBValentine wears her heart on her sleeve for this record; it’s one of the many deep tracks you’ll come across from xB on this album, where she doesn’t shy away from telling us where her lowest point was and the many fights with her demons where not every outcome was a win but again not every story has a great start, but it does have an amazing end. While xB has crossed the finish line, she’s still a long way from the rest of the race; she’s in better shape with a clearheaded space and the success that comes with it. xB takes the aftermath of her difficult moment to the next record titled “Power,” where it sounds like the victory bell has been rung. The ClefTheGod-produced record is the pinnacle of championship music. Being in a spot you thought had no way of winning but not giving up to eventually finding that opening, that corrective path to see the sacrifices make it worth it. xBValentine puts in blood, sweat, and tears in this album, and even having a very powerhouse group of features that include D Smoke, Westside Boogie & Bone Thugs N Harmony, xB doesn’t let it intimidate her; she stands strong among her rap peers and serving plenty of prestigious raps in the mix, even when the record doesn’t call for it. Take her track “October,” xB gets in her R&B bag and doesn’t lose any momentum you hear from the previous tracks; it all stays in the realm of lyricism but crosses in the mix of the different genres she touches on in the records. The album is full of memorable moments; xB doesn’t shorten her artistry; she gives more than any artist out right now, her roar is mighty, and she wants everyone to hear it. She doesn’t hold back anything throughout this album; it’s as powerful as its last track and more significant moving forward. She has bought alive a monumental project to the masses that deserved much recognition to not only showcase her heart as being mighty but the allowance for her to put everything on the line so we, as the listeners, better understand why her wins mean as much as they do for her. The definition of a champion is to battle through adversity, take every loss on the chin, and continue moving forward. See your plan through, and enjoy the moment when you finally get it; xbValentine is a champion.
To promote the album’s release, xBValentine is already hitting the interview circuit; her latest visit was to Austin to sit in with Idk, That’s Perfect?! where what we’ve seen so far was an excellent interview. I’m sure many others are being planned as we speak, so be on the lookout for any upcoming announcements. We highly recommend if you’re not hip to xBValentine, then you get started by enjoying her newest album here and sharing it around on all social media avenues.
